-- female driver was shot. janet? yes, good morning to you. the san leandro police department will be conducting an internal investigation to determine if the officer who opened fire was following policy when he shot at the suspects. this started yesterday afternoon. several san leandro police officers including an undercover officer were in oakland investigating a burglary in the area. in an unrelated case the officers spotted a stolen car with two people inside. police tried to stop the driver but officials say she kept driving. she drove on the sidewalk and hit several parked cars and a fence. police describe what happened next that led to the shooting. >> officers discovered a stolen vehicle. as they attempted to stop the stolen vehicle that vehicle rammed into the officer's vehicle.

>> this happened at a deadend street on 105th avenue in oakland. the plain clothed officer opened fire striking the driver if her 20's and in stable condition at a local hospital this morning. oakland police department is also investigating the case and they are interviewing the passenger who was in the stolen vehicle. this is the third time in recent months that san leandro police have opened fire on a female driver in a stolen car. december an officer shot a 27-year-old union city woman driving a stolen car on springfield street after she rammed several police cars the she died two days later. december 4, a 16-year-old oakland girl ran over a san leandro officer on avenue and the officer opened fire. >> this morning, a five-year-old girl is recovering after randomly attacked by a homeless
