parents keep a close eye on their children at drop off this morning at a elementary school after a stranger tried to lure a child into his vehicle for a second time in a week. >> security is stepped up this morning at bell shaw elementary school for a man who appears to be on the prowl for young children. amy is with us with the latest. >> reporter: parents here this morning telling us they're not surprised. they heard about it happening in

brentwood earlier this week. now they're worry thad it is happening here. >> drop off was crowded this morning, mom's told us there was more parents here than usual, keeping a closer on eye their kids now that word has spread of a stranger trying to lure a child into his truck. >> all of the moms were calling each other. >> the school was not just full of parents, they also increased security on campus. >> we have administrators here. we have our security team. >> police say a man driving a red pick up tried to convince a 5th grade boy to get into the truck. he later reported it to school officials and police were called around 1:00 p.m. investigators say they are looking but have not found the man. >> obviously it is disturbing, but it is the times that we live

grande high school. she told police that a man tried to talk to her and followed her into the parking lot, she went into the school and told a teacher. he is described as a 50-year-old white male with black and white hair. a teenager is back home after he disappeared for four days. the boy was apparently camping out this entire time? >> it turns out he was hiding out at his high school the entire time about five minutes from his house. he returned home last night. he went back by choice. the sheriff's deputies say he was in coopertino this entire time. he disappeared monday morning after his first period class but he did not go far. he ventured out to the open

space a little more than two miles from here and he slept under the bleachers at his school. he ate fruits off trees and drank water from drinking fountains and used a port-a-potty. they have been looking for him for four days, looking on trails and passing out fliers looking for him. he made a spontaneous decision to run away. he turned off his cell phone. he admitted that school has been stressful, but that is not why he made the choice. i spoke with school officials and they are all relieved that he is safe. melissa, thank you. breaking news right now out of new york city. a live picture of the statue of liberty. authorities evacuated the statue
