to shut down mcarthur park station to impact the morning commute. protesters start to march at the port of oakland which will be shut for eight hours today. may day originally started as pagan ritual celebrating start of summer. labor movements are using it as a day to recognize workers rights. the international long shore and warehouse union plans to help lead the march starting at 9:00 a.m. port of oakland scheduled a closure today delaying operations for 8 hours. organizers call for protests to be peaceful. union leadership is angry over social injustice, specifically police shooting deaths of walter scott, an unarmed black man killed an traffic stop in carolina. and may day protests taking place in other cities. in san francisco, a festival at civic center plaza at 1:30 followed by a march to 24th and

mission at 3:30. in san hose, 2:00 p.m. rally followed by a march at city hall. it will be held in other cities like chicago philadelphia, new york. 4:31. atlanta police say officers were forced to shoot and kill a woman who slipped out of handcuffs and began to shoot at them. happened yesterday after a police precinct building. investigators say she was arrested for driving a vehicle reported stolen. it is unclear if she was searched for weapons before putting her in back of a squad car. a witness said she was hand kuftd. she was taken to a hospital where she died and the officers weren't injured. a group opposed to the new warriors stadium voiced concerns at a meeting. they say they have no bisque near the medical center. traffic could be a nightmare

ocean beach, 52, bay view 55. we are in the 60s richmond, walnut creek union city. mid to upper 50s just about everywhere else. not quite a full monday looking from east bay hills back to the west. clear skies this morning. let's breakdown the time. san francisco, 63 to 71, cooling this afternoon. around the bay we will feel some cooling 72 to 86 in the south bay, not as uncomfortable as yesterday. moving forward, get used to morning clouds and afternoon sunshine. at least away from the coast. temperatures drop two to four degrees a day. here's a look at the golden gate bridge. traffic is clear, moving at top speeds no delays, no construction. things will be heating up there.

4:42, a local commuter is fighting back after getting a $300 traffic ticket even though he wasn't doing anything wrong. he hit record and put police to the test. >> i was like this. >> reporter: travis nunes says they mistook his hands for a

cell phone. despite his explanation, he got a ticket. >> yesterday was going to ups in my vehicle, i got an idea. i said let's conduct a test. >> reporter: his test replays what happened the first time. him driving on decoto road with fingers resting on the place. he was pulled over by the same cop that thought he was on the phone. >> i was shocked. >> in the first situation it was a different set of circumstances in which i presume it will go to court and at that point you know, and they'll make a decision. >> reporter: union city police believe he was using the phone driving when served the ticket. they add the second time around was an honest mistake. they wrapped up a distracted driving awareness campaign. they handed out as many as 500 tickets. >> give me a $300 ticket, you better make sure you're certain

i'm guilty. >> reporter: he plans to contest that ticket in court and bringing his video along as evidence. in union city, janet oaks abc 7 news. a san francisco artist plead to go get a prized painting back after someone took it from outside his garage. this is a foelt oh of the painting worth about $5500. surveillance video shows a couple walking off with the painting from the house in north beach earlier this month. police are not calling this a theft. they told abc 7 it doesn't look like they're trying to steal the painting perhaps they thought maybe somebody was throwing it out or giving it away. the artist says that's how he makes his money would like it back. >> i would love the paintings back and it can feed my kids and wife, that would be great. >> he says he left it outside for 10 to 15 minutes while inside getting something. if you know where that painting is, contact the police. warriors are getting ready

lack of clouds again on live doppler 7 hd. that's due to high pressure. you see double trouble. one steering storms to the north. as it shifts east, clockwise flow develops. we will keep all eyes to the south for the clouds to start rolling. here we are light and variable winds this morning. watch as we head to noon. see the southerly surge coming up behind my name? that you can see making a right-hand turn into san francisco. as you head over to berkeley, oakland, won't be nearly as hot as yesterday by the time we get to evening hours. even the winds are starting to make it inland east bay neighborhoods, taking sting out of that also. we will feel more of that tomorrow. for today how about mid-80s in the south bay.

85 in san jose. look at santa cruz. 72 and falling. mid-60s on the coast, falling in latter parts of the afternoon and evening hours. 76 in mill ray 79 in san mateo. we will have mid-60s, could warm up to mid 70s and fall back into the low 70s in the afternoon hours. even some 60s by the time we get to game time. we will have mid 70s to north bay. shoreline, mid 70s to low 80s, and here you go heat on, mid-80s at san ramone. everybody else mid-80s to 90s. angels coming across the bay after taking two of three from the a's. 60 at 7:15 at at&t park.

is moving at top speeds where we also have construction in the bay area mostly what the story is this morning. traveling eastbound direction, you're going to find at least a couple lanes taken on the right and left side until 11:00. as the morning commute wears on you may feel the squeeze. slower traffic making it to the east bay. travels on did you know bart enthis morning. and with drive time traffic to hercules, 27 minutes. and back into san jose 85 to the airport. 8 minutes. here's an idea some parents may find unsettling. i said what? when i first read it. the leading pediatric group says kids with head lice should go to school. many ban them from class until the child is treated and until the bugs and eggs are removed. american academy of pediatrics is encouraging schools to change
