dealerships and other businesses boarded up windows and sent employees home early. you can see what happened here 24 hours ago. this lot sustained most damage and those businesses are trying to avoid have this happen again with demonstrations planned this afternoon and this evening. we have video from 24 hours ago when this damage was actually being brought to these cars. demonstration that were faceful at first, turned violent after vandals hiding in the mob came out after dark and make this one of oakland's most destructive marches. hardest hit was these dealerships. he hundred -- city workers have been out helping businesses clean up the mess, specially the small family owned businesses that don't have this sort of cleanup in the budget. this morning the mayor and police chief spoke hoping to remind oakland that damage was called by -- >> a very small group of people with rocks in their pockets and

malice in their hearts disturbed what was otherwise a very positive day. >> there's no further damage. some windows broken. seems like somebody may have gotten in and messed with some of the property in there. it's a shame. it's a thrift store, and it employs special needs adults in the community. >> we feel we did a good job yesterday as far as protecting from theright. but did not go well in regard to protecting property. >> reporter: police say they've made 12 arrests and now they're asking the public to send them any video of the event that could actually help them make more arrests. the vandals were mainly anarchists and since their hostility was directed at police they were careful not to make arrests that could anger the crowd further. oakland public works will be out here to help businesses clean up and they'll stay here as long as tear needed.

>> a peaceful march so far in baltimore with thousands of protesters of city hall chanting no, justice no peace know racist police. they're calling it a victory rally. one day after the state's attorney general -- state's concern charged six officers with felons ranging from assault to involuntary manslaughter to second degree murder. in connection with the death of man they arrested. freddie gray died from supreme injuries a week after his arrest. the case provoked riots in the streets of baltimore and nationwide and became a rally cry against police brutality. >> in contra costa county, a driver faces vehicular manslaughter and dui charges after he intentionally drove into a crowd of people, killing one person. deputies responded to the la finca restaurant this morning and found nine people injured in the parking lot. one of the victims died at the hospital. investigators say the suspect, driving a truck, backed into a crowd at a high speed and also hit two other vehicles.

the suspect was detained by security before deputies arrived. pittsburg police believe a home owner shot and killed two people after interrupting a burglary. police responsibilitied to the shooting last night. the home wag targeted earlier in the week. officers arrested four people during a home invasion robbery. investigators do not know if the two incidents are related. condolences are pouring in for dave goldberg today. the ceo of survey monkey and the husband of facebook coo sheryl sandberg, goldberg died suddenly last newt at the age of 47. his brother robert, made the announcement on his facebook page, a cause of death was not mentioned. goldberg lived in men low park and had been ceo of survey monkey since 2009. facebook's ceo mark zuckerberg shared robert goldberg's post, adding that dave was an amazing person and i'm glad i got to know him. survey monkey released a
