live from the kgo tv broadcast center, this is abc7 news. >> good morning everyone, i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday may 3rd. let's start with a quick look at the whether with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey there, carolyn. things are calm right now. a pretty steady marine layer overhead and starting out with the cloudy skies in the picture. temperatures in the 50s right now. 52 at the coast. low clouds and fog almost in our inland east bay. it was a cool day yesterday. that continues today. it will take until about 11:00 for the clouds to disappear. the marine layer allows us to be

a little below average. we will talk about highs and the cool week ahead that features 60s in san francisco and the 80s few and far between. carolyn. >> lisa, thank you. a 35-year-old man from livermore is in custody this morning accused of killing a mother and her baby daughter while driving drunk and injuring few other children. police tell us it was just before 7:00 last night when the driver barreled down murrieta boulevard, missed a turn and slammed into the backyard of an apartment complex. a family was there celebrating the first communion of a child. >> based on the way the vehicle and the condition of it, it appears that speed was definitely involved. a 35 miles per hour roadway and probably much faster than that. >> i saw the car passing by and it was going really fast. i don't know, but it went into the guy's backyard.

>> 540-year-old woman and her 13-month-old daughter were killed. two boys, ages 6 and 7 were injured. the driver has been charged with grows vehicular manslaughter. >> a driver is accused of book a crowd of people in a bayport parking lot killing one and hurting 8 others. it happened around 2:00 yesterday morning at a restaurant on port chick-fil-a highway. the man was pittsburgh was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunk driving charges. the 24-year-old gomez of san pablo died at the hospital from her injuries. oakland is recovering from what police are calling one of the most destructive marches in recent history. yesterday crews began cleaning up the damage. abc7 news reporter jonathan bloom has more on the wreckage.

>> they aren't taking any chances. sometimes even the boards don't help. >> there were some boards that were yanked off and there was further damage done. >> his building was one of many damaged in the march. one that began peacefully but took a turn for the worst. >> a small group of people with mallots and rocks destroyed what was otherwise a very positive day in oakland. >> the mayor and police chief spoke at a morning press conference. the may day march against police said the vandals are not them. >> and when she's not marching she works at this kfc. >> i don't want to see my job and workplace and community look like. this you have to explain to your customers what's going on and that's what we've been doing all day. >> perhaps the worst destruction was at this hyandai dealership.

more than 50 new cars were vandalized, some beyond repair. neighbors came down to lock. >> it doesn't make any sense. it damages the neighborhood. >> police admit they could have done better. >> do you feel you did a good job as far as protecting? however, obviously it did snot go well in terms of protection of property. >> and they have been out helping merchants cleanup. >> working with litter, anything that they need. >> and the police have made twelve arrests. they are asking the public for any video of the march that would help them identify more suspects. jonathan bloom. abc7 news. >> pittsburgh police are looking into the deaths of two people possibly burglarizing a house when the homeowner shot and killed them. it happened just after 9:00 friday night. officers say they arrested four people during a home invasion robbery at the same address

earlier this week. and the twos incident could be related. in san francisco, abc7 news christian davis shared this video with us. a car overturned landing on the sidewalk along a steep block of broadway near taylor street in russian hill just after 9:00 last night. paramedics took at least one person to the hospital. investigators are searching for clues after a crash involving an oakland police officer last night. a silver s.u.v. collided with the officers' patrol vehicle at 17th and castro street next to interstate 980. it is unclear which driver was at fault. the officer was not injured. now to that big fight in las vegas that's had everyone talking. it was a star-studded event. seats going for thousands of dollars. manny pacquiao went down to

posted cheryl sandburg flew back to the am sa yesterday and she has requested privacy and will given an update when she's ready. the san francisco giants a reaching out to the family of a little league player who was killed last year. the 9-year-old was stabbed to death. yesterday his spirit filled a brentwood baseball field when family and friends honored the player during a game against the giants. they placed his name and number on shirts. behind home plate banners and in the dugout. >> we were in last place and he would always be in our dugout and always in our lineup. >> i bet he's looking down with the biggest smile from ear to ear. >> jodi's father flew out the first pitch.

an 18-year-old is charged with his murder >> if you have a bike you know a helmet is a must and when you are shopping for one you know doubt notice the huge price differences. does spending more money make you safer? 2,000 feet allows for the warm clouds and fog to be transported up a the way inland. a look at the roof camera. it will be a cool day here. low 50s in san jose. with the fog already with us, you can see the winds are womb and the sea breeze kicks in throughout the afternoon when we see the cool air. right now you can see a celebration here in the city. and looking at temperatures in the low 50s from concord to livermore. partly cloudy skies in concord. it is cloudy in livermore and 50 in napa. the deck of low clouds is taller and notice creating the visibility problem. instead if you are out there this morning it should be just fine. certainly cool this morning. once again, you will notice that this afternoon and down in the south bay look at numbers today in the low 70s. in fact temperatures a few degrees cooler than afternoon. not only today but that will last right on through next week.

cloudy and cool for most this morning. a cooler day today. the temperatures throughout the week mainly in the 50s and 70s. 9:00 still in hayward and fremont, over oakland and berkeley. by the afternoon it pulls back hanging out right along the coast and with winds up to 20 miles an hour it will be breezy throughout the afternoon once again. high pressure sits way off the coast. it will stay there. there is low pressure that will drop down from the north on thursday. what's interesting is a couple forecast models bringing in a few drops here thursday into friday. we will see if that pans out. but it will be cool the next several days. certainly dangerous conditions with the surf. keep that in mind if you are headed out. san francisco low 70s. cooler the next couple of days. here comes the system mechanics up the marine layer and bringing

front of city hall another is expected to take place there this afternoon. the city is still under curfew until tomorrow morning. a few people out after 10:00 last night were arrested. freddie gray died from a severe spinal injury while in police custody. six officers have been charged in his death. they have a preliminary hearing next month. a new york city police officer who was shot in the head is now recovering from surgery. plain clothes officer brian moore is in stable condition. last night he was trying to stop a man suspected of carrying a gun when the man turned and fired at least twice. the 35-year-old man has been arrested but no gun has been recovered and blackw. u of h l has not been charged >> nepal's only international airport is closed to big jets this morning. the one runway is showing signs

tenants out, increase the lunch. he plans to file a lawsuit on deb's behalf. he's charging the landlord with wrongful eviction. >> the landlord is intent in moving into deborah's unit and doesn't want to play the required statutory minimum moving allowance. >> under san francisco rent control. lama would have been required to pay deb $5500 in relocation costs had she been evicted. but because deb is moving out on her own," lama doesn't have to pay. court documents signed last christmas revealed lama received $7500 from the family trust to pay attorneys fees to evict deb. this is deb's message to her landlord. >> realize these are people's homes. negotiate. have integrity. compromise. come on! that's all i can say. i'll miss it but i don't have a choice. >> we reached out to her

persistent and tall. you see the flags blowing and the winds up to 20 miles an hour this afternoon. 55 in san carlos. 51 morgan hill. good morning san francisco, 52 for you. you see out over from our exploratorium camera the bay bridge lax quiet. low 50s concord and livermore. 50 petaluma, napa and santa rosa. from mt. tam it will be a nice day in the north bay, but around the bay it will be quite breezy and temperatures mainly in the 60s today. the cloudy start and the cooler afternoon by maybe three four degrees, depending if you are in the east bay or not. and then temperatures trending below average. more 60s around the bay and cloudy coast. one system will push on through tomorrow and that will allow for the coolest day to be tomorrow. the marine layer remains deep and high pressure offshore. another system comes our way late wednesday into thursday and friday.

we have cooling today and then as the second system heads our way it should mix out the marine layer but then it could also bring as you few drops. we will have that for you in the seven-day outlook. upper 60s in the northern sierra. it's a little cool. the cooling continues in los angeles with 71 for a high and the beach hazard statement from the central coast all way down to los gatos. strong rip currents. and the long period of southerly swell. keep that in mind if you are headed to the coast. oakland in the low 60s. little change tomorrow. here comes a bump up after the system moves out of here tomorrow. and then looking at that next system to bring the temperatures back down and maybe a few light raindrops around the bay come thursday into friday. today, though, it's a sunny, breezy afternoon with 64 in oakland. 62 san francisco. these are about 3:00 highs. seattle going take that long to warm up. 69 in fremont. 73 for concord. 76 in livermore. if you are headed into the city,
