>> good morning, everyone, i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday, may 3rd. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey there, carolyn. >> the clouds are beginning it retreat and parts of the south bay looking at sunshine. but the coast will remain cloudy. we are looking at san jose right now. san jose, with the sun, upper 50s for you. 55 oakland. here's a look at the visible picture. you notice that we are looking at the low cloud deck slowly retreat to go the west and that

will provide a sunny afternoon. but temperatures coming down inland with just mid-70s. plenty of 60s around the bay. in fact, we are going to look at a cooler start to the week. maybe even bring a few drops by the middle to the end of the week. i'll explain in a few minutes. carolyn. >> lisa, thank you. a 35-year-old man from livermore is in custody this morning accused of killing a mother and her baby daughter while driving drunk and injuring two other children. police tell us it was just before 7:00 last night when the driver barreled down murrieta boulevard, missed a turn and slammed into the backyard of an apartment complex. a family was there celebrating the first communion of a child. >> based on the weight of the vehicle and the condition of it, it appears that speed was definitely involved. a 35 mile per hour roadway and probably much faster than that. >> i was in my window and i saw the car passing by. it was going really fast.

and out of nowhere, it busted the cable and then it went into the guy's backyard. >> a 40-year-old woman and her 13-month-old daughter were killed. two boys, ages 6 and 7, were injured. the driver is charged of grows vehicular manslaughter for driving intoxicated. >> the driver of a truck is accused of backing into a crowd. people in a bayport parking lot killing one and injuring 8 others. it happened around 2:00 yesterday morning at a restaurant on port chicago highway. the 21-year-old man was pittsburgh was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunk driving charges. 24-year-old gomez of san pablo died at the hospital from her injuries. >> we are learning of a silver alert to morning.

91-year-old oscar has not been seen at his san jose residence since 2:30 this morning. he's 5 feet tall 115 pounds. he was last seen wearing multi-colored pajama bottoms and a white and red overshirt. he suffers from a medical condition and may become disoriented. if you see him, call 911 or the san jose police department. >> the san francisco giants plan to honor a little league player today during a game against the los angeles angels. 9-year-old jordie almgren was stabbed to death last sunday morning. an 18-year-old william schultz is charged with his murder. yesterday his spirit filled a brentwood baseball field where family and friends honored the little league angels players in a game against the giants. they called it joy for jordie.

jordie's father threw out the first pitch before thanking everyone for their support. >> now to the big fight in las vegas that has everything talking. now to that big fight in las vegas that's had everyone talking. it was a star-studded event. seats going for thousands of dollars. manny pacquiao went down to floyd mayweather. mayweather is undefeated and now the undisputed welterweight champ with a $1890 payday. fight was personal for a woman in san francisco. she said pacquiao is like a son to her. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana has the details. >> from the moment the first punch was thrown, one woman at this house party was nervous. >> previous fights i don't watch because i'm scared but this time i want to watch. >> like many filipino homes across the bay area, her family

did more than just come together to watch a boxes match. they threw a party to celebrate a national icon. but for some it is a little more special. >> like my son now. he live in my house. >> back in 2001 when manny pacquiao first came to the united states, she hosted the then unknown fighter in her home for a month. now he's in a match-up against mayweather worth hundreds of millions of dollars in an event seen by many pay for view watchers around the world. >> he came from a humble beginnings. now he's really big and part of the filipino community. >> this man is a pacquiao fan. he shelled out more than $7,000 to host a 300-person views event and sold out tickets two weeks ago. for home subscribers 100 bucks was the going rate to watch it with friends and family. in the end it didn't turn out the way he had hoped.

>> in baltimore this morning city leaders have lifted the curfew that's again place since violent demonstrations over the deaths of freddie gray. yesterday a peaceful protest becamed as a victory rally ended in front of city hall. another rally is expected to take place there this afternoon on what's being called a day of prayer peace and healing. a few people out after the 10:00 curfew last night were arrested. gray as you know died from a severe spinal injury while in police custody. six officers have opinion charged in his death. they have a preliminary hearing next month. >> a new york city police officer who was shot in the head is now recovering from surgery. plainclothes officers brian moore is in stable condition. detectives say last night he was trying to stop a man suspected of carrying a gun when they say the man turned and fired at

least twice. 35-year-old demitrus blackwell was arrested, but a gun has not been recovered and blackwell has not been charged. nepal's only international airport is closed to big jets this morning. the one runway is showing signs of deteriorating from the plane's weight. it has been a week since the 7.8 magnitude earthquake shattered the nation. this aerial view from the drone showed the extent of some of the damage. at least 7,000 people are dead. thousands more unaccounted for. medium and smaller jets are still able to land at the airport. the country remains in dire need of food, water and tents. and especially in the mountain villages. so many people around the world want to do what they can to help nepal. if you visit our website abcnews.com, we have a list of some of the organizations working in that area, along with links to help you donate.

the los angeles area was hit by a magnitude 3.9 earthquake early this morning. officials have not received any reports of injuries or damage. that quake struck just after 4:00. it was north of culver city. this is the second time this month an earthquake has struck on that same fault line. >> well, the duke and duchess of cambridge, that's prince william and kate are hosting a steady stream of cars driving through the palace. prince william's dad dropped by with wife camilla. the baby's name has not been revealed. britain's legal book maker said the names charlotte and alice are the favorites for the prince ses.

numbers climbing up through the upper 70s in san jose. san carlos 55. we have the fog and 3 to 5 visibility on the coast with 52 degrees toward santa rosa. beach shot. 60s in santa cruz. it will be cool with the onshore flow. temperatures a little below average for most of us. 50 napa. petaluma 50. and the east bay valleys will feel nice. it will be a mild afternoon east of the caldecott tunnell. look at all the gray from our exploratorium camera. becoming sunny except at the coast. look at cooler conditions today in the 70s and tomorrow looking at low 70s inland. so we have a weak little weather system that will bring the temperatures down further. in addition to that we have the cool ocean breezes that will continue all week long. there's another system come thursday that's going to reenergize the cool air. and some forecast models want to bring in a few drops come thursday into friday. san francisco points south.

we will see if that materializes, but no heat on the way. in fact temperatures will be shy of where they should be for the most part. south bay beaches, especially in southern california, and around monterey, santa cruz, looking at rip tides. another cooling day in los angeles. 71. it is still hot in yosemite at 82. numbers coming down in the sacramento valley, 83. we are looking at still a few clouds in the sierra nevada. they had a few showers there. 69 degrees along the coast. bring the jacket. it is going to be a cool one today. south bay numbers average high necessary the mid-70s. so you are about there with 72 santa clara, 75 los gatos. on the peninsula the cool ocean breeze will keep you in the upper 60s. 68 san mateo. 50s from half moon bay. and san francisco it will take all day for your low 60s. breezy and a cool day. cloudy on the coast. and in the north bay some of the

warmer numbers as you head up toward lake port. but a cool afternoon for petaluma at 67. near east bay. sunshine by the afternoon. mid-and upper 60s for you in union city and fremont. and here's where the numbers are feeling pretty good with mid-70s in pleasanton. but you head out toward the delta where it is very breezy now, is may be 80 or so. i'm choking. here's the forecast for the giants. upper 50s -- >> do you want me to finish it off? >> yes. i'm touched. >> well, you can see there it's below average in the 70s for the rest of the week. we might even get a little bit of rain, lisa told me before her voice began to go. >> yeah. >> so today the hottest day of the week. >> i like that carolyn. you did good. maybe a few sprinkles thursday and friday thanks.
