response time goals. the move could save rural metro $7 million next year. the company has been plagued by financial problems and complaints of slow response times. no word on whether the county will renew rural metro's contract next year. >> the oakland animal shelter said the severe drought and warm weather has caused a surge in the number of kittens being dropped off this year. they are asking for the public's help fostering young kittens through a rescue partner organization. there is a save a kitten fundraiser so people can donate supplies for foster families and money to care if the kittens at rescues. >> an artist is reunited with an expensive painting after what he thought was an art heist that was a misunderstanding. the incident was caught by surveillace cameras last in. we aired this video on thursday. a couple came upon a large painting and a plank canvas outside an apartment and not they were there for the taking.

in arizona a seven-year-old girl was killed and a 14-year-old was seriously hurt after a backyard swing set broke apart. it happened at a home near phoenix. the girls were playing on a wooden swing that swung into the pool from a rope. the seven-year-old was standing near and the 14-year-old was on the swing when it snapped at the base, both girls were knocked into the pool.
