this is "nightline." tonight, the young woman who allegedly takes that revenge is a dish best served cold thing literally. look at this. college student accused of poisoning her friend's food and she's not the only one. tonight, these roommates from hell will have you watching your back. she's more than just a pretty face. tomorrow, we're with a rising star in the ring this olympic hopeful tells us how boxing turned her life around. and daddy girl. kendall jenner finally opening up about her father bruce. tonight, new scenes showing those first emotional moments as

ju good evening. if you've ever had a roommate, you know things can get tense at

times. what you're about to see goes way beyond that. a young woman who may go to prison for allegedly trying to poison her roommates and it's all caught on camera. it's just one of many such tales as abc shows us. >> she might be the roommate from hell especially if you're hungry. a university of south carolina student potentially facing a jail sentence after she was allegedly caught on camera contaminating her roommate's food. watch closely. here's 22-year-old hayley king peering into the fridge she shares. she opens a container of food and appears to spit in it multiple times. that's saliva. the secondickening act was captured in february. only being made public now. one of them claimed to have eaten food that just didn't have to farm-to-table taste.

the roommate said the incident followed weeks of arguments with king and a failed attempt to evict her. police say this is king spraying her roommate's food with windex. she even sets the food back on the counter and pours the ammonia-based solution over it before putting the food right back in the fridge. >> there's a clear law in south carolina that if you maliciously tamper with food with the intent to inflict bodily harm it's a felony. >> police brought king in for questioning and says she confessed to the incident. her attorney did not respond to the request for comment. king's roommates are keeping their identities hidden. one told abc news this not only affected me physically but also mentally from the anxiety that came along with it. king now facing possible felony

charges and jail time is currently out on $5,000 jail. >> her defense would likely be my intent wasn't to inflict bodily harm. my intent was to gross my roommates out. that may be wrong but it's not criminal. >> a bad roommate can be the stuff of horror movies. >> she's crazy. >> from the obsessed stalker in "single white female" to the deceiving and murderous college girl in "the roommate." but as we've seen such characters aren't only in the movies. they can be found in all kinds of places. >> over the top for everything. >> take portland oregon and a young woman with a taste for the finer things. >> lot of crop tops tight pants. >> woman who called herself v enjoyed life on the dance floor.

>> she liked to stir stuff up right? >> yeah. >> at first, these young women are drawn to her, a party time princess whose over the top attitude she could not be denied. >> i didn't even know the girl. it's like oh, my god, i love you. >> one by one, these women came to suspect that v was an identity thief. with this face liked sticking her pals with her bill. >> she was really good at telling her lies. she's a professional liar and a thief. >> $400 in unfamiliar charges turned up on her credit card. then on a shopping run v flashed big time cash. >> buying like $2,000 worth of bedroom and house stuff. she was going through her wallet there was so much money in there. >> only 24 hours later, when taylor checked her bedroom for

the money, did she have an idea where she had gotten all the cash. >> she stole my social security card debit cards and stole $13,000 cash. >> so right in front of you she was buying stuff with the money she'd stole from you 24 hours before? >> yeah, i knew it was her who had to have taken it. >> in days, she had gone from friend to frenimie. >> she's absolutely one. she is your friend and then absolutely your enemy. >> she also stole taylor's credit card. >> the detective picked up taylor's case in late august spearheading the investigation into the activities. >> she sought out a certain type of person. became friends with that person. and then would victimize them a little bit over time before doing something to cause her to cut ties with that person and leave. >> taylor went from victim to crime fighter.

a detective request setting up a facebook dedicated to finding v. a thousand miles to the south in los angeles, v's newest friends have grown suspicious of the club-hopping money-mooching young woman crashing on their couch. when they google her name they're flabbergasted by what they find. >> there's facebook pages dedicated to finding her. twitter accounts. i look at her and say, this girl is psycho. there's something wrong with her completely. so we called the cops. >> the detective tells taylor the news. the lapd has nabbed v. >> months of independent up emotions at last unleashed. >> we did it. i thought this wasn't going to happen.
