and good thursday morning to you all. i'm t.j. holmes. >> and i'm kayna whitworth. reena ninan is on assignment. we start with severe storms. >> a lot of new video coming in showing us the damage. piles of rubble where homes and builds once stood. this is in oklahoma. it was hit hard in particular. cared flipped over, power lines down. trees snapped. [ wind howling ] >> so that sound, well this morning, reports of more than 40 tornadoes. this one is in kansas. tossing large pieces of debris through the air. >> the storms are slowly moving east. more severe weather expected today. here now bazi kanani. >> here we go. >> reporter: sirens playering ingblaring

across the heartland. >> we have a roof that just flew through the air here. >> reporter: the bridge creek fire department shredded. residents forced to evacuate sfwlp oh my gosh! whoa! >> reporter: the tornadoes touching down in kansas nebraska, and texas. destroying dozens of homes and anything in their path. >> i'm telling you. please stay at work. do not get on the highway. >> reporter: meteorologists warning drivers. this driver in kansas dodges debris. power poles toppled. >> it was scary and crazy. >> reporter: those winds fold by hail and record rainfall. the deluge stranding dozens of drivers in oklahoma and texas. this morning, those flash flood warpings continue. bazi kanani abc news

washington. >> and we're just now learning about injuries. at least 13 people injured at an rv park in oklahoma city. at least two of them are in critical condition. >> the dangerous weather be repeated today. >> t.j. and kayna, thanks and good morning. another active afternoon. right in the midst of tornado alley. where we had all the damage reports wednesday, likely more today. along the west of interstate 35. much of western kansas oklahoma, and texas. flooding rains as far east as dallas-ft. worth. another area of concern into the upcoming week send the southeastern seaboard. this feature could become tropical. pounding surf gusty winds, heavy rain throughout the coastal carolinas into next week.

severe weather sticks around the south plains. >> justin, thank you so much. we'll never go too far away from the weather story. the other big story this morning. the new england patriots. the deflate gate scandal. >> the nfl is considering punishments right now. this report going about as far as possible without directly calling tom brady a cheater. ryan smith has that story. >> reporter: nfl investigators releasing a 243-page report saying brady was generally aware of inappropriate activities surrounding taking the air out of game balls. minutes before he took the field for the afc championship game patriots employee jim mcnally reportedly carried the game day balls out of the officials' locker room to a bathroom. a minute and 40 seconds later, he brings them to the field. the balls were found to be

deflated. mcnally and john yastremski discussed altering them to brady's liking months before the game. the pair encaged in a string of texts. at one point, he said talked to him last night. he actually brought you up and said you must have a lot of stress trying to get them done. later, mcnally calling himself the deflator. in the days after the scandal broke, brady, who refused to turn over text messages to investigators called jastremski several times. a hard hit to the star's credibility who claimed he did nothing wrong. a defense department audit found several pentagon employees have been using company credit cards for gambling and prostitution. that preliminary report shows civilian and military employees charged escort services and other adult entertainment on their company cards in las vegas and atlantic city.

most card holders pay their own bills and submit the receipts for reimbursement. growing questions surround surrounding the clinton foundation. a lavish event this week end hosted by one of the world's most controversial mining companies, ocp group. they gave the foundation $1 million. former president clinton saying there's no evidence of any wrong doing. the federal government may launch a separate probe into freddie gray's death. baltimore's mayer is asking for a full-scale investigation of the police department. it is already investigating the death of gray while he was many police custody. meanwhile, cvs says it will rebuild the two baltimore drugstores burned and looted last week. employees of those two stores have been offered work at other cvs stores. they plan to donate money to help the sfi recover from the

the people in that car did get out okay. but a heck of a sight. well, the streets could be flooded all on their own in kansas today because of weather. as well as in oklahoma, north texas. roads will be wet in the great lakes and over the rockies and cascades. watch out for puddles in the appalachians. and if you're flying, airport delays likeliest in denver, kansas city, and dallas. a shocking new detail about michael gourd. a missouri man arrested for killing a college student whose car was for sale on craigslist. >> gordon went to meet taylor clark on his lunch break, murdered him, and went back to work. they say gordon arranged the meeting supposedly to test-drive the car. clark's body was later found not far from the car. this morning people can finally go back home after an oil train derailment in rural north dakota. this was moments after the

accident yesterday. about 40 residents in a nearby town had to evacuate. it's the eighth major derailment this year, even as new safety regulations have gone into effect including lower speed limits requiring stronger tanks, and better brakes. police in florida are trying to identify a man who cornered a woman in an elevator and robbed her at knife point. the woman entered the elevateor and was followed quickly by that man. he cautioned her to keep quiet. when he tried to get off the elevator, the doors closed in front of him. he finally got away on another floor, with the woman's purse. all right. also, this coyote. just hanging out on a kitchen counter. this is near atlanta. it chased a cat through the window and then just stayed there. a deputy was called. the coyote had to be put down. locals say they're seeing more and more of them in the area. animal control says there are not more coyotes. it's just that people are living among them. well, in the netherlands now. seven people are recovering from a pretty frightening ride at a

local fair. that looks frightening. that's not in motion. that's not a still we're showing you. they were stranded upside down for 45 minutes when the carnival ride called the booster, great name suddenly jammed in midair. emergency crews finally freed them. the booster is now out of service. maroon 5 front man adam levine was attacked last night in l.a. after taping an appearance on "jimmy kimmel live." levine was leaving kimmel's studio after the show whend he and his entourage were hit with a powdered sugar bomb. nobody is hurt. just sweet. the sugar bomber is now under arrest. i don't know the point of that sometimes. there are worse things you could have done. that is frightening. you never know what somebody is up to. >> i'm sure he was glad to learn it was just sugar. okay so now for sports here. the washington capitals and tampa bay light think both with some ws last night in the playoffs. >> with more here are our guys at espn.
