team of searchers i spoke with a stepfather and mother that spent a couple days camping just down the road. with nick and two kids. two kids went with their father on this trip when folks didn't not hear from them they called 911. >> my hope is that we find them. it's been worrying and we need to get those kids out of there. >> the search has been concentrated along the road behind me. we're told there are drop offs and the like the search will go 24-7. we have california oef and the national guard along with the red cross and several counties

back tuesday night but never showed up. with a second day of searching sierra county received help from the chp. the device can detect heat in a search area. the search and rescue team has dirt bikes just for this effort. >> are you concerned they might have had an accident? >> that is what we think yes. it might be an accident. if it is they should show up. >> you can see there is some law enforcement folks back there.

sunnier. we're looking at lingering clouds and some more active weather to our south. a thunderstorm cell is just east of morgan hill. and isolated storm. then into the east bay over portions of interstate 680, light rainfall. there are wet spots there. this is from the northeast. 4/100ths of an inch at moffett field. there is not more in the way but i'll give you a look at what is developing in just a moment. a startling sight in the north bay.

what looked like a funnel cloud left residents concerned. these are pictures had what looks like funnel clouds. this morning's weather did not cause damage but did get attention of everybody nearby. >> it's scary to think about it. i've been in tornadoes. >> i was worried. there was wind in every direction. >> now, national weather service says dispute the appearance it's unlikely this was a funnel cloud. officials believe it's probably a down draft of precipitation known as verga. and we'll have a live report on the snow in the sierra coming up in just a few minutes so stay tuned. >> in san jose tonight police are hoping you'll continue to share, post and retweet the video you're about to see on social media.

this shows a man barging into the home of a 13-year-old girl trying to attack her. a terrifying scene for a victim of any eighth. abc7 news follows up tonight live from the girl's neighborhood. david? >> this 13-year-old has a compelling story to tell. this allowed us to help share the story of bravery and how the young girl had a sense of safety and innocence changed. she says she tried to scream but couldn't the student was returning home, but wasn't aware until it was too late a man was following behind. he caught up with her as she unlocked the toor. >> he started asking me inappropriate questions. i didn't know the meaning of. and i knew it wasn't

appropriate. so that is when i decided to run inside >> a surveillance video shows he began to put his hands on the 13-year-old she got him to back down. >> i was just trying to get him off of me so i pushed him back. i slammed my palm into his face. that is what i think, scared him off. after i slammed my hand to his face, he got off of me. >> her mother agreed to the interview because the suspect walked away and could attack again. earlier the same suspect was found following a 28-year-old woman into the rest room at a market on saratoga avenue where a similar assault happened. police describe him as 30 years old, white, thin with a beard. he was seen in a sandwich shop a few minutes before the 13-year-old was attacked residents in this neighborhood consider it a safe place

here is a satellite animation showing this upper level low dropping south ward. moving through the bay area now. towards southern california carrying with it these areas of showers. and some thunderstorms. we may see areas of light showers in the south bay. a chance of showers into morning commute. so looks like we don't have weather related come politics however, despite we'll have a sunnier day tomorrow, later into afternoon, there could be outbreaks of localized showers in the north
