"all my thans and gratitude to all who helped and searched especially the national guard." >> a stand off helped a short time ago between san jose police and an armed man inside a home near downtown. the stand off began at 6:00 last night. police first went to the home after a woman claimed the suspect threatened her with a gun. the stand off forced the police to evacuate homes at east julian. officers spent hours urging the man to surrender and he finally surrendered at 4:00 this morning. paramedics checked him out before officers took him to jail.

>> this morning, rohnert park police are asking for help in finding a man and his two daughters. police say the 45-year-old got an emergency custody order and picked up his daughters ages mine and 11 from after school program. their mother his wife already had a restrainted order against him in a different court. by the time she got the paperwork traitened out, he and the girls were gone. his car is describe as white 1998 mercedes california license plate 4rig229. police believe he is headed to washington to see relatives. >> people in san jose are on alert this morning as authorities continue to look for a man wanted for brazen attacks on women. miss say this suspect followed a 13-year-old girl as she walked home from school on tuesday. southfield caught the frightening ordeal as they forced his way in or he did, into the house and attacked her. police say the same man is suspected of trying for sexually

assault a woman at the market on saratoga last month. the teen in the attack talked with abc7 news about how she privilegely fought back the. >> i tried to slam the door on him but i couldn't. so he gets inside and he tried to grab me so i push him back. i try to get him off of me and i slam my hand into his face and he decided to get off of me. >> police are asking the public to help find the suspect before he strikes again. >> in the north bay police are looking for the shooter who opened fire on two men in pittsburg, two men were sitting in a car near carrollton drive at 7:00 p.m. last might and someone pulled up next to them and fired. a man died and another was shot and is expected to survive. the detectives believe the men were targeted. >> residents in the east bay will notice a change in the smell and taste of their water. officials say starting on sunday the water could be more pungents

california attorney general wants to stop a proposed ballot initiative that advocates killing anyone who engages in gay sex and will file a lawsuit to have it rejected calling it unconstitutional. the judge agreed to push back the filing deadline to juan 25. the lawyer proposing the measure told the "san francisco chronicle" he. -- will not fight the lawsuit but will get it on the ballot directly without signatures. >> cal is expected to name the newest athletic director today and it looks like it will be a man who has been in charge for nearly a year. mike williams stepped in as the interim a.d. when san bar left. ♪ i had the time of my life ♪

east bay pair and his two young children are safe after a rescue in the sierra after quite the ordeal. now to the gather's par better shop before father's barber shop. >> it was a heart warming reunion. our cameras were there for the joyful moment of reunion. >> hug your grand child. kiss that grandchild. >> nick took the off-roading route home from a camping trip in the sierra and the truck got stuck in the mud. he and his five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter were stranded for two days. he said he did everything he could to get rescuers' attention. he could see them. they could not spot the family. finally he figured out what to do. >> i left an l.e.d. light but

the wedding school had several tanks holding welding gas that erupted into flames. >> they discovered there was a tank farm on the interior of the building with tanks on fire and venting gas. we discovered this was a fire inside of the building and our initial crews knocked down the fire inside of the building and put water on the tanks to cool the tanks down. >> another fire then started on north ath street at 10:30. check owe the flames. it took crews an hour to put this out. fires have not said what caused the fire but likely they will wait until daylight. friends of san jose firefighters facebook say every station in the city was at a fire covering another stare's area pause of the fire. in sonoma county a historic

clouds are stubborn at 59 to 64. move through the mother's day weekend we have the marine layer return so the fog and drizzle, mostly at the coast and fog everywhere and low clouds and temperatures are same as this afternoon and cooling trend with a dry cold front on monday. leyla? >> good morning, san jose here is 280 as you head between 880 and highway 17 northbound traffic into cupertino you can see how quickly the cars are moving and the gaps between the cars. that appears to be not congested and southbound traffic is barely this traffic. we will take you over to the altamont pass where it is moving pretty nicely at 43 miles per hour but not until north flynn road and vasco where it slows down. the bulk of the traffic is making the push into livermore and it will dissipate. 29 miles per hour receipt now on the freeway and continuing westbound. we are quite clear at 52 miles

reporting that the justice department will investigation allegations of civil rights violations involving the baltimore police department. baltimore mayor asked for the probe following the death of freddie gray who suffered a fatal spinal injury i'll in police custody last month. the session lacks into whether baltimore city police engage in discrimination against blacks and other minorities. baltimore was taking part in a voluntary justice department review but attorney general loretta lynch told congress it is possible that more needs to be done. >> frightening moments for passengers aboard a delta airlines flight after being forced to make an emergency landing pause of smoke in the cabin. delta flight 2028 took off from for fort lauderdale and thick heavy smoke filled the cabin forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in charleston, south carolina. in a same dome that blamed the smoke on an engine problem. as self tornadoes touched down in north texas. storm spotters captured this twister near northwest of dallas-ft. worth one of several tornadoes that spanned several counties. authorities say the tornadoes damaged homes and barns and brought down power lines. a tropical storm watch is in effect for parts of the east coast as the first cyclone of the season building off the coast of the carolinas. >> everyone's favorite topic: the warriors. they will play to memphis. they lost for the first time in the playoffs. they find themselves tied after the grizzlies pete them at oracle arena. the head coach is not panicking headed interest game three of the semifinals. >> you celebrate when you do win is because it is hard and you
