>> abc7 news starts right now with breaking news. in san francisco sky 7 is over the scene where emergency officials say a bus hit a pedestrian after 10:00 this morning. at 4th and king on the embarcadero. we are told that injuries are not life threatening but you can see there are police and other personnel on the scene. that person who was hit were taken to the hospital. >> our other top story: relief right now after a missing oakland pair and two young

children are rescued and airlifted from a rugged area in the sierra. they are in good condition and getting rest. it is a great ending to the worry and fear that a lot of family members had after the three did not come home great a camping truck. our reporter joins us now with the latest. >> we just learned the kids are on the way back here to oakland, back do their home. the grandparents are going to bring them home. their father will stay behind with his brother and try to retrieve that truck out of the wilderness. the friends and co worries say they will be happy when they can see them for themselves. >> his friends felt tremendous relief when they got the news that he and his kids were found safely in the sierra by rescue crews. >> we knew this would be the outcome. >> we were this to capture the moment. knick and his five-year-old son and three-year-old brother were

on the way home from catching when they got stuck in the mud. he spent 50 hours trying to get the attention of rescue crews. >> we could hear them and see them but we could not see us. we had fires going and pink blankets in the trees and yellow straps all over and left bottles by the river. >> they finally spotted him. he took the video of his daughter being lifted into the rescue helicopter. his coworkers knew he would be prepared and the kids would handle the situation just fine. >> they are wonderful. they describe yesterday as a "very long day," as they waited for news. they were not only once anxious to hear something. the customers and friends and everyone in the neighborhood has been supportive and reaching out it is really, really cool. >> the barber shot is set to have a grand opening party tomorrow night and they home

burglars shatters their sense of security. their home could seen from across the street and a man on the bicycle was circling at 4:30 in the afternoon and 30 seconds later the bicycle pulls into the driveway and an hour later a convertible pulls in a man gets out and comes out with a 47" black screen tv. the driver, a woman, in the car gets out and takes down the convertible top and drives off the a red car driven by her just got home great work and called the police. she went inside and she saw what was missing, close to $10,000 worth of valuables including the tv computers, hard drives with that pictures and their engagement ring. >> i saw the next thing that was gone was just heartbreaking...something...even if you buy a new one it does not have the same sentimental value. >> san jose police responded and took finger print and the couple

say they gave information on plate number, identified the vehicle as a 2001 white mustang convertible with black rims and handed over surveillance video and pictures they received from neighborhoods. while they say the investigators were nice they were told that no one was assigned to this case and the two officers in the burglary unit are on patrol because of short staffing in the department. >> they don't have the tools available to them to go after the people aggressively. that keeps these guys we in the streets a lot more. so yes, i think it is going to be hard to feel safe anymore. >> i contacted the san jose police department about this case and they have yet to get back with me. the family said they do have insurance but obviously there are some things that cannot be replaced. >> i hope they catch those guys. >> people staying at a seven story residential hotel in oakland had to leave today after officials decembered the water in the building is a health

hazard. our reporter was at 13th and oakland. officials have red tagged the build to chlorinate the building. workers will flush the system and retest it for back tear ya results should be back saturday but finding the source could take much longer. >> a close call at a construction site in santa clara. a giant crane collapsed at an office development we on great america parkway south of highway 237. this happened at 7:30 this morning. you can see the crane next to a parking garage under construction damned part of the roof. no one at the job site was injured. officials now are trying to determine what caused the crane to topple. >> in san jose an investigation is underway into the cause of two fires that broke out just a mile apart. huge flames rose from the latest fire at a warehouse along north 5th street at 10:20. no one was hurt. it took crews almost an hour to put that fire out. you saw the flames so intense
