an employee at santa clara county wall den west science camp was arrested. >> alan wang is live in the south bay where he spoke with parents who want to know just how much contact their kids have had with this counselor. he was a trusted counselor at walden west science center. now they want to know if they secretly took pictures of their children. >> it makes me ill to know they went somewhere that was a once if a lifetime memory. >> amanda barnette's fifth grade daughter attended the science camp near cupertino and they all new edgar. he was arrest editor possessing more than 300 child porn images and videos. they found him at the

overnight camp that teaches children about nature. >> first time sleeping away from home. >> he posted these photos of the camp on his facebook page. he was the night host nicknamed "pho paw --" papa bear." >> he was to address concerns of the campers. if they were uncomfortable with anything, they were to go to "pa you paw bear." >> now they want to know if he took inappropriate pictures of their children and they want to hold a meeting to answer their questions. >> how do we know he did not place cameras in the showers and toilets. >> he may have taken pictures of our kids. he was going in the cabin to wake up our kids in the morning. >> the santa clara office said he passed a criminal background check when they hired him two years ago. in santa clara county, alan wang, abc7 news. >> san francisco attorney and political consultant enrique pierce has been arrested on child pornography charges. this is pierce in 2003 when he

worked on the mayoral campaign. in 2011 he lead the effort to get the interim mayor to seek a fullterm in office. >> new at 11:00 a roanoke father picked up his 9 and 11-year-old girls on tuesday after he received an emergency custody order. but the problem is the mother already had a temporary restraining order against him. investigators searched for him in california, oregon and washington. he returned the girls to roanoke park today. he faces two counts of felony child endangerment. police are thanking residents for helping arrest a man they called a violent sexual predator. he is accused of trying to rape a 13-year-old girl. janet is live in san jose with more. janet? >> reporter: he is being held at the santa clara county jail without bail tonight. police say it has received more than a hundred tips that

lead to his arrest this morning. it was an intense 48-hour search for this man. many are breathing a sigh of relief that he is locked up. >> in my opinion he is a monster. >> san jose police say the man wanted for two sexual assaults was on the run. >> all of the credit belongs to the citizens who called in. >> police say he tried to change his look from the images captured on surveillance video. the first attack happened a month ago when police say he followed a 28-year-old woman to the bathroom. on tuesday police say he followed a 13-year-old girl as she was walking home from school her family's sur veil 11 individual -- surveillance video showed an assault plastered over social media. >> i actually recognized him

with a beard and then when he didn't have the beard i didn't recognize him very much. >> jennifer steel only knew him as the man who lived above her. >> he complained about our laundry. he lived this this corner apartment. tonight his roommate who didn't want to be shown said he took a pair of shoes and a jacket as evidence. the roommated is he moved out abruptly two days ago. he had no idea why until now. in san jose abc7 news. >> friends and family are saying goodbye to a 9-year-old boy who loved baseball. a family trend is accused of stabbing him to death while he slept in his discovery bay home. this afternoon jordy's family family -- family, friends and teammates packed the place. they called him a boy who loved to have fun. an east bay family is at home after a two-day search ended with a happy reunion.

as we showed you last night at 11:00, nick and his two young children were found safe after being lost for two days in the tahoe national forest. today 3-year-old mila and 5-year-old nicky arrived at their grandparents home in piedmont. family flew in from all over the country to help with the search. they say it has been a blessing in disguise. >> i figured my son did it this way. they could celebrate mother's day. >> abc7 news reporter laura anthony was the only one on hand for the reunion. if the father was not so level headed the outcome could have been very different. >> we are so grateful to anyone who looked for us. >> rescuers told abc7 news once he found himself stuck in the wilderness with his children he did the right things. >> i left an led light, but

apparently you can't see those at night. i left it on the hood of my car. i had a flashing strobing light i should have started the first night and i think that's what did it. jay it shows the black toyota tundra after the dirt gave way beneath it and it slid sideways into a tree. through it all he had to maintain the physical and emotional well being of 5-year-old nicky and 3-year-old mila shown here at their camp just before the rescue helicopter arrived and hoisted them to safety. after spending several days here they were convinced that their time together in the truck was part of the adventure. >> they didn't know they were in jeopardy or in danger because he played it cool with them and they picked up sticks and they made a game out of almost everything. >> it seems to have worked. >> was that the poison oak? >> wow.

>> even the chihuahua emerged in good spirits. they left for their home in oakland and it was clear their health and well being was in tact. laura anthony, abc7 news. >> if you would like to see more we have a photo gallery of the rescue on our website abc7news.com. san francisco 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick have come to the defense of tom brady as brady faces possible suspension in the deflate gate scandal. a report in the new york daily news -- in the new york daley news says they will announce how long the suspension will last. an nfl report issued this week indicates the new england patriots quarterback knew they were using under inflated footballs. they are easier to catch and flow.

the patriots won that game 45-7. kaepernick tweeted "to football in the world will help you win by 38. let it go and let tom be great." you heard of renters fighting huge price increases but that goes beyond the city. abc7 news was at the park royal apartments as families demonstrated this evening. the landlord plans to renovate and increase rent a thousand dollars a month. renters say they were given two months to leave their homes. a spokesperson for the landlord said the tenants will get help moving. the spokesperson says no one has been evicted. >> from you looking for a house, a whole new class of buyers are out. who are the boomerang buyers? stay right here. michael finney will take a closer look in a few minutes. happening now, the san mateo bridge is now closed for the entire weekend. you are looking at a live picture from our bridge camera. it closed to traffic about an hour ago. it is not the only traffic issue happening this weekend.

katie is live on the bridge with the details. katie? >> take a look. it is not a sight you see every day. not a single vehicle on the bridge. when all is said and done it will be repaved which is a first in the bridge's history. the drivers will have to make do. it is on top of a bart closure. giants are at at&t park and of course mother's day. >> i asked my daughter would you come to visit he? she said oh mom. you know it is closed. maybe next time. >> she lives in hayward and her daughter lives in san mateo. it is not an easy drive this mother's day with the san mateo bridge closed. she also has to get to work in burlingame this weekend. i am going to take the dunbar ton bridge and go around. it is extra miles but it is okay. >> cal trans is resurfacing

of getting impaled by a motorcycle. they posted this picture on its instagram page. it was incredible. you can see where the sprocket sliced through the wind shield and lodged itself in the car's roof. it narrowly missed the driver. a san francisco man is the first person to be convicted under california's new shark fin ban. the i team was in court in san francisco. the only media outlet there as the 43-year-old pleaded to contest. authorities say they caught him with more than 2,000 pounds of shark fins at a warehouse in 2014. activists are upset that he got off with just a misdemeanor. >> what do you say to the activists that were upset about the sharks and what they represent? >> we are just following the law. the activists have the law enacted and now somebody has been convicted. >> the shark's fins will be preserved for nine months in case they are needed for evidence during an appeal.

weekend. you will see what is going on right now. clouds are advancing over the bay. the temperatures are in the 40s and 50s and they are retaining a little of the mildness. san francisco's financial district was socked in tonight. a look at the forecast. cool to mild for mother's day. we are looking at a chance of rain late next week. so we do have some mows tour -- moisture, at least a possibility. the moisture associated with this low has pushed off to nevada and arizona. so it is taking the snow from the sierra with it. steady sea breeze from the high to the low. so we will see pretty much what you expect to see around may. low clouds pushing inland. when you start out your plandz they start out gray but hen the clouds will pull away. bay and inland you will see low clouds. look for lingering low clouds

on saturday afternoon. the first named storm of the hurricane season of the atlantic is subtropical storm ana. it is moving extremely slow at three miles an hour. it is expected to make landfall somewhere near the north carolina-south carolina border on sunday and then eventually veering off out toward the atlantic by monday. the wettest spots could see up to a half a foot of rain and that leads to the potential for some flooding out there. if you have travel plans keep that in mind if you are heading back home. temperatures first thing in the morning will start out on the cool side. you will see the 40s and 50s around the bay and parts of the coastline. temperatures in the south bay 71 this san jose cupertino, a nice day on the peninsula. 70 mountain view and 56 in pacifica. some moms like the fog to linger .

urbing discovery. look at this. police say a father tried to smuggle his 8-year-old son from africa to europe in a suitcase. the father from the ivory coast then gave the luggage to his wife before going through a border crossing. authorities are caring for the boy and he is said to be in a terrible state. the father is in jail accused of abuse. >> things got a little wild for tourists this week in yellowstone national park. some tourists were on the bridge taking pictures of the wildlife when the bears got a little unpredictable. the bear started running after the tourists. the people started running back toward their cars. no one was injured, but it is important to remember that they are wild animals after all. you don't want to tangle with
