with a high wind advisory. be careful if you drive anything lie sided or high profile like an s.u.v. or truck. that is the san mateo bridge where it will close again starting on friday to finish repaving work on the a new plan in san francisco to alleviate congestion during the peak commute hours. here is what is happening. >> if you are not following the rules today is the day to start, the day for parking officers is to make sure the commute is smoot. at 7:00, this morning, san francisco's new congestion strategy will focus on construction projects, double parking and delivery trucks and cars blocking the intersection. there will be parking officers keeping a close eye on some of the most congested areas. that including making sure any construction project is following the rules of the permit and out of eye way if

from wires and travel on battery trial for up to seven miles. muni expects to replace the entire fleet with hybrid and electric buses over the next five years. >> police are searching for the suspect would led police on a chase across the east bay. the c.h.p. said the chase started in concord and ended in berkeley. officers say the driver sped the wrong way down highway 4 and i-80's before crashing into an s.u.v. at california and hearst avenue in berkeley. the suspect would called 9-1-1 to say that he was not going back to jail, ran away. gone. police officers and k-9s searches the neighborhood and have not been able to find him. >> officials are trying to figure what caused two experienced extreme sportsman to fall to their death at yosemite. leader is more from the newsroom. >> yes, the men were attempting a base jump when the parachutes

failed to open. extreme agent lean dean potter and graham hunt were killed. they jumped from a 7,500' cliff on saturday at taft point and the bodies were found the next morning. they were wearing wing suits like this with flaps designed to help them glide. this is actually video of potter from last year when he base jumped from the swiss alps with his dog. the dog was not on this trip. the 43-year-old was well then for the extreme and risky adventures like type rope walking and pair cluteing and completing the most challenging climbs. he spoke with abc in 2012 of his death-defying stunts. >> you think about death and your mortality. i am forced to think about my mortality. i don't want to die until i'm an old, old ma, i don't want to die falling. >> he was named "adventurer of

the macarthur maze into san francisco. the metering lights should be turning on in 10 minutes, i would say as we move over to the golden gate bridge it is much lighter from are man to san francisco and the different trucks made it in the northbound direction and expanded southbound lanes look like traffic is flowing nicely. news from the east bay police are seasoning for the man who drove a stolen car the wrong way on a couple of major highways and put innocent drivers at risk. amy hollyfield is in berkeley with the latest. >> police say this man was determined to not go to jail and it looks like he succeeded. they have searched the berkeley neighbor and not been able to find him. police have packed up and left the area. he did put a lot of the public in danger including the driver of an s.u.v. he was hit and his car flipped over. the driver does suffer minor

injuries but is okay. this started in concord at 11:20. the police realized the honda was reported stolen so they pursued it. the driver hopped on highway 4, going in the wrong direction and fled. he then drove on to interstate 80 into oakland and also, driving the wrong way and he told dispatch to tell police to back off because he did not want to go back to jail. he drove into a neighborhood. >> the suspect vehicle or car ended up crashing behind me and at that time the driver get out and ran into the residences in this neighborhood because of the safety we made sure we checked each house and back yesterday to make sure the suspect wasn't still outside standing or breaking into a house. >> they searched homes a one block radius of california and

hearst but they did not find him. he got away. for now. in the south bay investigators are waiting until dawn to determine the cause of a two alarm grass fire that threatened hopes in san jose. firefighters contained the flames on communication hill east of the guadalupe freeway at 10:30. this fire burned for an hour and left 5-7 acres charred. it spread up a steep hill to homes at the mobile home park with crews clearing the scene after determining the fire was completely out. >> firefighters are trying to figure what sparked a 7 a-acre grass fire that burned a large area on interstate 580 near livermore. we were over the scene as the fire burns near the north gasoline road 50 ramp at 2:30. high winds made fighting the fire difficult. it was likely an accident and it

gliders. >> a marine died and 21 were hurt when a helicopter crashed yesterday and caught fire during a heartlanding at an air force base. you can see the retardant used to put out the flames. it takes off and lands like a helicopter but flies like a plane. investigators are looking for a cause. >> amtrak service has returned to normal in the northeast for the first time since last week's deadly derailment. this is video of the first train traveling through philadelphia this morning rolling out of new york about 2:30 our time and amtrak is also promising trains and tracks will be in compliance with federal safety rules following the accident. eight people were killed and more than 200 were injured. one victim abid gilani back to the bay area to work for wells fargo in 2008.
