a pipeline burst near santa barbara covered a popular

freeway. the pipeline ruptured late today. it spewed about 21,000 gallons of oil into the ocean, polluting a four-mile long section of shore line the coast guard secured the pipeline and crew arrive toed begin containment and clean up. you might remember a massive oil spill had been seen in the area in 1969, killing thousands of birds and marine animals >> for the third time in over a month, a dead whale washed up on a beach the carcass of a gray whale came ashore in kelly beach today. the day that crews buried the whale that wash add shore in pacifica. and again april 5th. wayne freedman is live with the story tonight.

wayne? >> reporter: three whales in just miles from each other seems unusual. first we had a sperm whale, middle april. then, a hump back today, we had a gray whale down, just down the road. and experts are telling us it's fairly normal but still, three whales and a short period of time does seem unusual. >> the site of another dead whale along the coastline has begun to feel alarmingly common place. on this beach they got a spectacle. >> it's beautiful at the same time. >> how? >> i have never seen a whale so
