>> here comes curry for three. >> nearly 40 years in the making and now one step closer to the finals the warriors take game one of the western conference finals. >> for a time it looked like the rockets were going to blast off early, but steph and the dubs came out in the end. i'm dan ashley. >> i'm ama daetz. we will have more on the warriors but first developing news on the oil spill in santa barbara county. >> they believe the shift in wind could push it closer to the city of santa barbara. a 1500 boom has been laid out in the water to keep the oil from spreading. >> our sister station in los angeles that is been at the scene all night. >> clean up efforts are underway along the santa barbara county coastline after thousands of gallons of oil spilled into the ocean. officials found the ruptured pipeline on the north side of the 101 after residents complained of the strong odor. the crude oil spilled into a

culvert flowing under the freeway and on to the beach right into the water. initial estimates say 21,000 gallons of oil spilled into the ocean before the leak was shutdown. that spill is stretching approximately four miles along the shore. but officials say it could spread another two to four miles due to the wind. the biggest concern is for the wildlife caught in that oil. we have seen whales swimming dangerously close to the slick. at this point, they don't have any reports of animals injured due to the spill, but it is still early in this effort to clean up the mess. at first light crews will resume the massive clean up efforts in hopes of limiting the damage as much as possible. as for the popular state beach, the officials say it will likely remain shutdown throughout the holiday weekend. north of santa barbara, abc7 news. a big rig driver died after his truck overturned in concord. the mangled truck and the debris are partially blocking

traffic. it crashed into the overpass on highway 242 about three hours ago. this has been going on all this time. only one southbound lane is open. they need to inspect the overpass for any damage. >> short, shorts spaghetti straps and crop tops. there is an effort to change that because some feel the current dress code is sexist. abc7 news reporter lilian kim is live with the story tonight. lilian? >> ama many say the dress code here unfairly targets girls. it is an issue that has gained a lot of traction over the past week. >> if we walk around in a tank top like this i get sent to the office before first period. >> she would never wear what she has on during school hours. according to the dress code, clothes shall be sufficient and low cut tops those that

three. they say forest hayes died in 2013 after she injected him with heroin. she never called 9-1-1. a teacher in marin county is on leave after allegedly showing pornographic images to students. they report it happened at white hill middle school on thursday. police say the images came from the teacher's personal computer. the teacher may not have realized they were being projected on to a classroom screen. police found no evidence of a crime, but they could look into it again depending on the outcome of the school's investigation. a horse rescued in the east bay after tumbling 50 feet was badly injured. it had to be euthanatized. the parks district video shows them at the regional park. her horse went over the edge and the woman was not hurt. >> for the third time in just more than a month a dead whale washed up on a san mateo county beach. it happened today at half moon bay, the same day crews buried two dead whales in pacifica.

we went undercover and watched for weeks here. >> in broad daylight there is a constant stream of people coming and going with bikes. hidden under tarps dozens of bikes. >> i would say eight out of 10 bikes are probably stolen. >> we watched as people took bikes apart and mixed the pieces to build new bikes painting them so they can't be easily identified by the owner. >> serial numbers are sometimes scratched off. there is a different wheel set on there now. >> these encampments attract other types of crime. we watched as people fumbled with piles of cell phone and bought and sold drugs. doing them in the open. we wanted to know how easy it is to get a bike from these camps. so we took our hidden cameras there. the i team went looking for a deal. within minutes we get an offer. we take it for a spin and the

guy tries to close the deal. we pay and walk away with a bike worth $500. it took just five minutes. police say the bike was likely stolen. we tried to track down the owner, but like many stolen bikes, this one had not been reported to police. the city estimates more than $4.5 million worth of bikes are stolen each year. they have a list of some of the most notorious bike thieves. among them, one of the most popular bike chop shops. we saw them work on bikes and people shopped his curbside store selling cash for parts. >> he has been accused of possession of stolen property, burglary domestic violence, assault the list goes on and on. >> they charged limb with possession of stolen goods and conspiracy to commit a crime.

>> he agreed to speak with us in the county jail and admitted running a chop shop. >> he tells us that he turns 15 bikes a day and will sell a $200 wheel for $40. he knows most of the bikes he buys and sells are stolen. >> they will come and arrest me. >> he offers some advice to anyone who has had their bike stolen. >> get it back. put your bike on a chain. >> that is little comfort for eric stall. >> it is a huge problem. >> his bike still hasn't turned up probably won't. i suspect my bike was taken apart quickly. >> if it was at this chop shop it is not there any longer. after we called police to tell them what we found the city

they are all in the 50s across the entire bay area. staying on the cool side it will look like this. overcast skies and add in drizzle for your morning drive. below average the next few days with a slight chance of showers on thursday. when you look at the water vapor imagery here is the low that brought us the cooler than average conditions. there are a couple more lows out here. we will call it cool and unsettled. the nights and mornings will be cloudy and you will even see some drizzle for the morning hours. maybe one of the systems could produce some showers. it is not looking as promising as it did earlier today. 1:00 in the morning spotty drizzle is starting to show up again. watch out for the damp roadways. might need a little more time for the commute. partial clearing expected in the inland valleys where you will see some sun. if you are traveling to the sierra nevada we have snow showers showing up late in the season, but not unheard of. one to two inches and it is
