doesn't feel bad, burr we have plenty of low level moisture so you may get damp if you are out for a morning run or bike ride and the clouds will be slow to clear. but when we do get the sunshine, it will nudge up on the other side of 70 today. and the inland valleys it will be warmer. from our kgo roof camera you see we have a still atmosphere here. the west winds will be picking up. spotty drizzle and sunnier overall over the weekend. today will be a little bit better than yesterday for the most. tomorrow the warmest day of the next three for the holiday and then by monday unfortunately, the on shore flow kicks in and we will be cool are across the bay. don't look for heat anytime soon. yesterday it was warmer half moon bay that san francisco and oakland. that gives you an idea what is going on. we had the sluggish-moving trough. you can see it. it's allowed for the showers and

thunderstorms around eastern california. that continues today but there's another upper level system that could trigger a shower or thunderstorm mainly near lake county today. otherwise an upper level high pressure system is slowly pressing to the eastern pacific and that means very slow warming trend today and tomorrow. overall we aren't getting out of our cool pattern. we are be looking at the possibility of some rain here. it's happening now in lake tahoe. just 56. but southern california has cleared up. upper 60s there. the waves kick up tomorrow along the coast. itit will be cool beach days today, tomorrow and certainly into memorial day. for the week ahead, today forecasting a high of 73 degrees. warming up tomorrow and you notice we cool off and into the 80s by next week. but overall we are looking at 68 today. san jose partly cloudy. 67 for saratoga. upper 60s redwood city. san mateo look for late morning sunshine and even sun at the

coast. we will need it. it will be cool. upper 50s to near 06 and around the bay looking at low 60s to the upper 60s. but memorial day weekend writes in warmer air. i'll tell you what is and how much coming up. chris. >> thank you. a new trial may be granted for the man convicted in the 2001 killing for washing done d.c. intern sandra. she vanished in a dc area park. we have her mother's reaction to what the prosecutors could decide. >> one thing i have her things in her room that are still there. >> susan has never lost sight of her daughter, and pictures of her are in every room of their home. it was 14 years ago when the dc intern disappeared and her body discovered a year later in a park. >> the truth it my daughter is gone in a horrific way. i'm not going to get her back.

>> in 2010, a man was convicted of killing her and sentenced to 60 years in prison. her mother was told by government attorneys that the defendant will get a new trial. >> the frustration is not having my daughter alive. it's not about the trial. >> for susan nothing will bring back her daughter. since sandra's death she's suffered through posttraumatic stress disorder. >> there's no such thing that there's closer. there's no such thing that grief doesn't co-exist. >> she's not entirely convinced that the right man was found guilty of killing sandra. the conviction was based largely on a jailhouse informant claiming the man confessed to the murder. his attorneys say that key witness gave false testimony during the trial. >> my husband feels 100% sure that they got the right person. but for me there's always thatted 7% there's always a certain percentage that i'm not

sure. >> during the search for the killer the investigation revealed a romantic relationship with former congressman gary condet. he was ruled out as a suspect. susan wants the justice system to convict the right person. >> there will always be question. the pain is there. and it's an ongoing thing. the truth is none of us will ever know what really happened. >> and that was carlos reporting. >> it morning a three-year-old girl is recovering from minor injuries after being attacked by a coyote in southern california. this is a picture from our sister station in los angeles of the suspected coyote which had been seen before. authorities say the child was walking with her sister and mother when she was attacked from behind by the coyote at a park in irvine. the girl was taken to the hospital and released hours later. coyote was not captured. 5:33, the time. drought will have an impact on
