99th avenue and dante avenue. another was driven to the hospital with a gunshot wound. the suspect is responsible for the double shooting is barricaded in a home and refusing to surrender. we will update the situation when we get more information. >> after a big weekend closing the eastbound lanes of the san mateo bridge are re-opened. the westbound direction should be open soon. looking at the span from our san mateo bridge camera the headlights headed toward you are the eastbound traffic. westbound, hopefully we will re-opened next half hour. caltrain said both directings would be open at 5:00 a.m. a power problem led to signs near the toll plaza failing and keeping them from doing their job. the entire bridge was closed 10:00 p.m. on friday so caltrain could install new expansion joints. the construction work is expected to extend the life of the aging span for another 50

years. the bridge was closed during a weekend early this month with no further closings planned. >> san jose firefighters say brushfire that forced part of the closing of a major road began in a homeless encampment. we were in san jose when the fire broke out at a lot on east capitol expressway. winds up to 30 miles per hour with the flames. >> we saw the trees on fire. we walked a little bit more and it jumped to the palm streets. they were incinerated. fast. it was so dry. from there, you could see how far it spread out. >> the capitol expressway was closed for five hours. no injuries were reported. memorial day business at the eastridge mile was affected. downtown oakland police arrested four protesters and cited 19 others on the second straight night of demonstrations. the protesters are defying a crackdown for mayor schaaf on

the nighttime street protests requiring demonstrators to stay on the sidewalks. police had to use force twice last night. they estimated the crowd to be between 100 and 150. >> police arrested five people inside last blocked by police who ordered them to dispersion. some of the road sat in the road in defiance. the demonstrators say the mayor has no rights to keep them east street. this enforcement is being called "unlawful." >> largest memorial day events taking place in morning in san francisco, 2,500 are expected to gather at the former army post to pay their respects to service men and women with thousands of brave sites at the cemetery decorated with flags. organizers commemorate two important events including the 50th anniversary of the

dead whales washed apore in pacifica and half moon bay. officials plan to let the tide carried the one in sonoma out to sea. >> another round of severe weather including flash floods and tornadoes is predicted for the central part of the country that have dropped western amounts of rains in texas and oklahoma blamed for the deaths of three people. several roads are now not passable. strong winds leveled carports and trees. the ground is saturated and cannot take any more water. people are urged to evacuate from areas near rising rivers and creeks. >> despite the rushing waters a kayaker in texas decided to go for a ride and nearly paid a huge price struggling to keep the craft above water. he had a hard time and was almost hurt by tree limits. good samaritans pull him out of the raging water. he was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

cooler-than-average temperatures. cloudy tonight. drizzle tomorrow. a slow warming trend this week and we will try to get temperatures closer to average. look how thick the cloud deck is through 7:00 this morning even by noon, just a few areas starting to clear out inland east bay in the south bay and everyone else is still cloudy and by 2:00 or 3:00 we have sunshine through the bay but it never completely clears out. the coast will have drizzle the better part of the day. now a upper 60 to low 70s in the south bay with mid-to-upper 60s on the peninsula and mid-to-upper 50s along the coast into downtown and south san francisco could get up to 60 and the same in sausalito. mid-to-upper 60 through most of our north bay valley with low-to-mid 60s along the east bay shore with more sunshine around union city and fremont and castro valley and upper 60. upper 60 through the san ramon valley and everyone else in the

low-to-mid 70s tonight cloud cover comes back as does the drizzle and we are mild low-to-mid 50s. a little bit of a change slightly warmer tomorrow, and wednesday. finally, by thursday friday and saturday and sunday temperatures are back to average in the 70s and 80s but for the 60 at the coast. >> i have a live picture the san mateo bridge. i will keep you updated to see when the westbound portion of re-open. eastbound side has re-open. traffic can come to hayward from foster city. right now westbound is closed and things will be re-opened by action. we are still on track for the re-opening. as we look at our alternates the dumbarton bridge at top speed, if you travel further to the south out of newark and east palo alto that would be a nice way to get there. the rest of the south bay hooking good, at top speeds everywhere at 69 miles per hour
