hours after this incident all began. hands up in the air the second of two hostages were freed at the same time. the other hostage was released after 2:30 after he crawled out of a service bay roll-up door. a small armored vehicle picked him up and took him to safety. >> none of the hostages were injured and we talked to a woman who was caught up in the police chase and shexd explains what she saw and what happened to her and her vehicle. >> we'r%hnn the fast lane. all of a sudden this car kind of zooms and cut in front of me really quick. something was dragging alongside of him and i ran over whatever it was and it kind of popped off. >> reporter: it turned out she must have dragged some of the spike strip in her car and brought it down to contra loma boulevard. the police right now in antioch are doing what they call a debrief. they are trying to gather all of the evidence and the details of what happened this afternoon because multiple agencies were involved it's going to take a

while to sort all of this out. the contra costa county sheriff's department and the antioch police and highway patrol were all involved and there are two shots at the suspect after he brandished the gun. >> they're going to be giving abc news reporter alan wang what happened and we have that on abc 7 news. we are live in antioch david louie, abc 7 news. >> we have breaking news in the east bay and a man hunt under way for the suspect suspected of invading a home. deputies spotted the get away car and chased it until it crashed at interstate 580 in keller. they did arrest three people and one got away. you're looking at sky 7 hd over the scene live in east oakland. police are searching the area of mountain boulevard near the entrance to an old navy yard and this isn't far from where the crash occurred on 580.

nba finals and catch the finals right here starting june 4th one week from tomorrow. let's move on to other items and a woman who claims she can steal a zip car in just seconds and she's not responsible for all of the crimes in a wave of zip crime thefts. she talks from her jail cell in this story that you will see only on abc 7. reporter vic lee is live with more from the newsroom on what she had to say. vic? >> the court documents say nicole dippo admitted to chp officers who arrested her that she stole 30 zip cars but she told us from jail she's not guilty of stealing all of them, however. prosecutors say since she's been in jail thefts of zip cars have dropped off. >> between march and the middle of april 76 zip cars were stolen in san francisco. >> how many zip cars have you taken part in stealing? >> um, seven. >> that's all nicole dippo will admit to but since her arrest

april 12th, prosecutors say only three zip cars have been stolen in the city. >> are the other ones? >> i'm not really going to plead guilty to them because i'm not guilty. >> okay. >> the 28-year-old claims she's not part of a ring of zip car thieves. the real ringleader she says is still out there. >> i look like i was the ringleader because i'm the been that taught that individual and that was taught to other people. >> dippo says she can steal a zip car in as little as 30 seconds and she uses a slim jim to get in and manipulates the wires from another device that overrides the ignition system. dippo says she's never stolen any other type of car. why zip cars? it gave her a sort of rush. >> it was a high, you know what i mean? once you get the car you're just, like oh my gosh, you know what i mean? dippo told us the arrest has been a life changer. >> i have been able to really think about what i wanted to do.

fire crews quickly contained them as neighbors watched nervously from their homes. chris nguyen is live from the eagle ridge golf course in gilroy tonight with the story. chris?0l >> the ninth fairway at eagle ridge is just behind me. if you take a look you can see a lot of green trees in the distance and beyond the first ridge is where the fire broke out earlier this afternoon and althoughnb residents areñr relieved that the fire did reach their hopes they say it was still too close for comfort. >> at the eagle ridge golf club in gilroy a nerve-racking experience for residents. >> after i literally walked into my kitchen it was just all white and black smoke and you can see the flames. >> just after 12:00, a golf club employee called 911 to report a grass fire quickly moving up the hillside behind the ninth pole. cal fire and gilroy fire as well as the south santa clara district responded and by the

afternoon were able to reach 100% containment. the challenging fire fighting conditions weren't lost. >> we have to work together as a team to best put our resources in the correct places for the safety of the residences the people and the homes and our firefighters. >> the fire burned nearly eight acres which makes it the large of the grass fire in the city of gilroy since the start of the fire season. thankfully no homes were threatened and an investigation is under way to determine the cause. sources tell us that golfers and club maintenance crews were in the area when the fire started. in gilroy chris nguyen, abc 7 news. a small brushfire in los gatos did no damage to any hopes this morning and sky 7 hd was along highway 17. crews spent the afternoonec whiching for hot spots and making sure the fire was completely out and no more problems. >> 99% of the anchor rods did

them. >> 3.4 million dollars to settle charges that it was too slow to report defects with two of the office chairs. the chain is accused of receiving 200 customer complaints and not notifying the consumer product safety commission until the commission contacted the retailer. under federal regulations, office depot is required to report the issues within 24 hours. office depot sold more than 1.4 million gibson chairs between 2003 and 2012 and sold 150,000 quantum chairs between 2006 and 2009. the seat backs from some of the chairs were resulting in injuries. ford srling 423,000 cars and suvs due to a power steering issue. the power assisted steering has failed on the ford fusion and lincoln mkz from 2011 through 2012 and some 2011 mercuryñr milans. also covered are the ford flex

and taurus vehicles as well as lincoln mks and mkt from 2011 through 2013. the problem with the electrical connection can cause the power steering to stop working. federal regulators are warning anyone who might be lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy about the unseen dangers in dark chocolate. an investigation by the food and drug administration has found dark chocolate may contain milk even if the list of ingredients doesn't indicate that. the problem has been traced to cross contamination. the same equipment that makes the dark chocolate often makes milk chocolate. very similar to what we see in problems withw3 pharmaceuticals when they have the same pill-making machine doing different items. >> good to know, michael. >> thank you. all right. as part of its effort to cut back obesity, the city of davis is requiring milk and water be the first drink option on kids
