just about trying to make something good out of something bad. >> a bay area father who lost his daughter is now fighting to save other young lives. the effort today to help end what he caws a national epidemic. hello, i'm katie marzullo. young performers from across the santa clara valley took part in an effort to bring aware nose cyberbullying. the proceeds benefit the audrey potts foundation, named in honor of a saratoga teenager who committed suicide. cornell bernard is live in san jose with the story.

>> reporter: some really good news. the concert here at the theater on the square raised $5,000 for the audrey potts foundation, which is trying to eliminate cyber bullying. [music] >> music with a message. young performers on stage giving it their all. this rock for a reason concert is raising funds for the audrey audrey.ott foundation, audrey was 15 after committing suicide after being sexually assaulted at a party after she passed out after drivenning alcohol. photos of the assault were posted online. he later messages friends, my life is over. three teenaged boys pled guilty. >> she talked to her friend. >> he family's foundation takes the message of anticyber

abc7 news. abc7 news was in san francisco's mission district today where protesters organized a loud rally calling for equal rights. the group is standing in solidarity with protest north america baltimore, in calling for justice for people of color, and to condemn misfremont from -- treatment from police. and calling for gender equality. >> it's wrong. we need to have equality. we need to have justice. >> today's rally was organized by the san francisco chapter of word a feminist organization that focuses on equal rights. oakland police are looking for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian yesterday on purpose. it happened just after 11:00 last night on 29th 29th street near san pablo avenue. police say the victim was man in his mid-40s. they believe he was targeted by the driver, who drove away after

the collision. officers did not release a description of the driver or of the car involved. the death is being investigated as a homicide. another deadly hit and run in oakland. police are searching for a driver involved in a three-car crash. it happened last night at 14th 14th and adine. i've is are can looking for the driver of a saab. a woman driving a gray audi sedan was injured and is expected to recover. >> a fishing boat that an aground in half moon bay is still stuck at this hour. the fishle vessel ran aground. there was only one person who was on board who was able get to off the vessel on his own. right now the coast guard is coordinating removal of the oil

and i work so hard to provide for my family. >> the police department says cooks was actively resisting arrest. cooks says a judge dismissed the charges are seeing the video and now has an attorney and is considering a lawsuit. cooks gave birth to a healthy girl. new details on the oil spill off the santa barbara county coast. 11,000-gallons of an oily water mix has been recovered. in a letter thursday to federal officials, senators barbara boxer and dianne feinstein called the responsible to the spill insufficient. the owner of the run pureed pipeline said it immediately activated its emergency response plan upon confirming the leak. the spill created a ten square mile slick in the ocean. >> off the los angeles county coast, surfers and swimmers are back in the water. beaches have been shut down for three days after oily tar balls began washing ashore.
