>> morning, matt it was a long night at city hall and a vote did not happen until almost midnight and the board of supervisors rejected this proposal for a moratorium on some of the high priced apartments going up in the mission district. several times, president of the board of supervisors had to convey it the fired up crowd. >> i want to wrap this up. >> excuse me? excuse me? hundreds showed you last night to sound off at the podium during public comment. last night, the san francisco board of supervisors rejected a proposal that would block construction of high-priced condos and apartments in the mission district. it was 7-4 in favor of the moratorium but they needed nine votes to pass. supporters showed up and argued the neighborhood is in a housing crisis facing skyrocketing rents and a record number of evictions. >> shame on them for making our

community struggle more than they should. some on this board land owners and developers are responsible for destroying our community. >> supervisor proposed the 45 day emergency ordinance the supporters are still pushing to have this on the november ballment. opponents however argue that halting development will hurt the construction workers and the bits involved and ultimately displaced the residents to other parts of the city. >> this morning, authorities in friend are looking for a suspect who hit a pedestrian while trying to escape police last night. it happened at 10:30 in the area of mission and 8th street. police say they were following a suspected robbery vehicle and it took off and hit a young man crossing the street. officers chased the blue four door bmw across the bay bridge

break out before 2:00 a.m. at a to story residential building on 26th near mission. fire crews were able to get the fire put out quickly and the red cross is on the sketch, now, to help those displaced. there is this word on injuries. >> in the east bay antioch police are investigating an accident that sent a teen girl to the hospital with critical injuries. it happened around 9:00 lat night. according toens the driver in a mercedes lost control and crashed into a large electrical box near an apartment complex. the girl was thrown into the windshield and airlifted to chip's hospital. driver was detained for questioning. >> developing news, a pedestrian is fighting major injuries right now after police chase resulted in a suspect crashing in san francisco south of market and an all out search is on for the driver. amy? >> yes, kristen, police say they have not found the people who they were looking for though luck finding them overnight so they are still on the run.

here are pictures that were taken by witnesses right after the crash. it happened at 8th and mission at 10:30 last night. a man was just trying to cross the street and he was hit by a car trying to get away from police. >> we were crossing the street and there was a police chase going on and we jumped out of the way and this man got hit by the car being chased by the police. >> how bad was it? >> bad. >> police believe that robbery suspects were inside the car and they say they had just started following them when the driver tried to bolt. immediately the driver hit the pedestrian. miss kept following the car cross the bay bridge but lost sight of it at the 580 split. they got away. they were driving a blue bmw. the victim was described as being in critical condition. the victim was taken to the
