could have result this had his capture much earlier. we have the story you will see only on abc7 news. >> the clean-cut bandit. that's what they called him when they first sent out a bulletin. these are some of the bank camera images of philip seymour. between march and this month they figured he robbed at least 9 banks, six in san francisco, one antioch, one in elk grove and the ninth in san rafael. the fbi said the prolific bandit became more daring and more dangerous. >> she first brandished a knife and in the later robbery he displayed a handgun. >> reliable sources told us the 48-year-old was completing his term at a federal prison when he was transported to a halfway house in the tenderloin. sometime in march he disappeared from the facility. that's when his bank robbery spree began. but the fbi and local police had no idea who he was.

abc7 news learned that's because federal authorities somehow failed to issue an arrest warrant after he bolted from the halfway house. gilbert was even arrested by oakland police on a gun charge. but since there was no warrant, he was allowed to bail out. sources say the bank robberies continued with another gun. at some point the fbi was able to identify him and an all-out search ended in los angeles. >> the l.a. division was able to pinpoint the suspect's location at a hotel in the bellaire area. >> the fbi said the intense search for the bank robber was a top priority because he struck so many times and he used a gun. they say that local police played a crucial role in his capture. vic lee, abc7 news. 5:14 is our time. turning to a freak accident at the oakland a's game against boston. a woman suffered life-threatening injuries after an oakland player's bat

it will definitely feel warmer out there with widespread 90s arriving. in fact, we could see a few 90s as soon as tomorrow. but we are looking at mountain showers and thunderstorms today for the most part from the northern to the southern sierra. and then things begin to quiet down into the second half of your weekend. so if you've got some camping planned or anything planned in the mountains, tomorrow hooks to be the quieter day. so in terms of highs today look for mid-and upper 70s in los gatos to morgan hill. 77 in san jose. look for low to mid-70s from san mateo to mountain view. see the clouds from pacifica to half moon bay. san francisco look for some sun at 63. up in the north bay more widespread 80s arrive. have to go pretty far north to get to the 9 is in ukiah. 72 vallejo. near east bay in the upper 60s from hayward to oakland. it should feel pretty good. the clouds have been really widespread there i cross the bay and into our inland valleys.

here's a look at this shot. a nice-looking view. and this is about a 1500-foot marine layer maybe a little deeper from the east bay hills camera. temperatures ranging from the low to mid-50s from morgan hill to half moon bay and 55 in san francisco. 56 for you in san jose. and from san jose you can see the shark tank there. 56 by the delta. southwest wind right now but temperatures will be well into the 80s today out by the delta. 58 in livermore with 52 in santa rosa. and speaking of the north bay of course, this is mt. tam. we have fog clouds, drizzle and even clear spots this morning. mild to warm today with 60s at the shoreline to the 80s inland. that's more like our summer spread. and we will see more of that spread come tomorrow into monday. very little change on tuesday. so really it's going to be more of a summer-like theme as we get to about a week before the official start of that summer

the mid-80s. so around normal for the latter part of the week. san jose 77 today. 80s arrive for the early part of the week and then a slight cooling trend wednesday and thursday. highs today in the mid-70s for you. not too hard to take for fremont, as well as palo alto. 72 san mateo. up in the north bay a warmer day in napa and san rafael. 63 in san francisco and the accuweather seven-day forecast, not only does it feature a lot of warriors, we are look at mid-80sed to inland. 90s for sunday. the warming trend pretty much all around the bay. even the coast should get into some sunshine. but by wednesday and thursday taking the edge off the highs there and a little bit warmer come next friday. so finally mixing things up a little bit. >> starting to feel like a northern california summer. >> i agree. >> lisa, thank you. turning to sports now. some unfortunate news for the cleveland cavaliers. their all-star point guard now out ahead of tomorrow's game two of the nba finals.
