by a san francisco police car while on his bike in mcclaren park. a known risk taker pinkerton road around on a fixed gear bike like this one but his version had no brakes. >> he knew he would die young. he knew it would be on his bike and that's the best way that it could have happened. that's how he would have preferred to die. >> he was riding down this service road just moments before he was hit. friend are wondering if the loose gravel found here at the bottom of the road played a role. pinkerton skid and flew on to the street and right into the path of a cruiser. there is now a memorial at the crash site in memory of him. >> it is the circumstances of how blind that corner is, light, no one expects anyone to come out of the service road. >> it was carried on as scheduled this weekend. pinkerton was one of the event organizers. they say they will miss his passion for cycling and his infectious personality. >> he touched the lives of so

many people that it is crazy to even think that he is gone. >> a tragic death one pinkerton himself knew would likely come sooner than later. in san francisco lilian kim abc7 news. we now know the name of a teenager killed doing what police believe was an illegal street race in cloverdale in saw saw -- sonoma county. it hit angelica contreras. it sent her flying off the bridge. her body was found the next morning. the highway patrol says they identified several juvenile suspects. at least one of them will likely face charges. >> the east bay community of kensington is coming off of several rough months. the police chief was fired after being accused of mishandling a scandal involving a fellow officer. abc7 news reporter uh alyssa harrington plans to push the town forward. >> kevin hart knows he has a bit of a mess to clean up. his predecessor was ousted by the town's governing board and

criticized for how he handled the scandal that stole a sergeant's gun. >> i think he made some mistakes. clearly he made a mistake in handling that matter. >> hart is looking at the controversy as an opportunity. he told me over the phone there is a lot of questions and concerns in town with previous leaders. this was a period in kensington's history that was very public and we have got to move past that. hart is a retired sheriff commander and serves on the dublin city council. there is still debate over his position. he will serve as the police chief and the interim city manager. >> some people feel there is a conflict of interest. i don't think there is a conflict of interest per say but i do say it presents difficulties. they are very different jobs. they are looking at other options down the road. his first order of business is

to tackle the budget. abc7 news. >> amazingly nobody was hurt when a car plowed into a mobile home in fremont. you can see how the car lifted part of the home from its support this morning. crews used wooden beams to support the home so it wouldn't collapse using a car. no one could enter the home until building inspectors say it is safe. a story the news broke. it landed on highway 101 in morgan hill. it just died midair. he made the call to land it on a freeway. the plane narrowly missed power lines and traffic. >> we went through the emergency procedures and decided highway 101 is the best bet. we decided to make the best out of the worst possible situation. >> amazingly and thankfully no

whose bike collided with a san francisco patrol car. he was riding a bike with no brakes. pinkerton was riding in the dark when he was killed on friday night. >> now to the two convicted killers who escaped from a maximum security prison. they used power tools to tunnel their way out. they left behind this note saying "have a nice day." there is now a $100,000 reward for their capture. abc7 news reporter with the story. >> police have widened their dragnet for two convicted murderers swho broke out of the maximum security prison in upstate new york. two fugitives who seem to have vanished in midair. >> they could be literally anywhere. >> on the ground and in the air. more than 250 law officers are trying to pick up the trail of the two fugitives. officers with guns drawn paid a sweep of nearby schools.

>> look at that cell phone video captured chaos during a pool party in texas. watch as an officer flings the girl to the ground and then pontes his gun at the other teams. video of friday's incident has circulated on social media. the officer is now on administrative leave. neighbors called about the teens using the pool without permission. the first officers on the scene called for back up. the girl in the video has been released to her parents. friends have started an on-line fundraising effort for a woman seriously hurt when a bat shatter ited during an oakland a's game. on friday a piece of brett lawrie's bat hit tonya carpenter in the head, but she is improving. a go fund me page has been set up to help pay her medical expenses.
