hoping for no school, so, school will be on and the school is in final exams. this is the last week of school. it is an important day. school be fine, maybe this wing will not be available because the classroom is smoky but everything else is fine. they do not think it is "suspicious," but the fire was behind two locked doors so if anything, they are just perplexed how it got started. they do not think someone came here and started it. washington high school here in fremont, the fire is out and school will be on. we have breaking news from santa raws where police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at highway one and river street at 12:45 this morning. the pedestrian is 59-year-old woman died at the scene. several witnesses her it happen and called 9-1-1. officers closed a few lanes of traffic while they investigated.

we have had several solo spinouts across the bay area and take you pack over to this new accident over the santa cruz mountains where we had a cell appear a moments ago. if you are traveling through the santa cruz mountains along highway 17 you could fine this accident solo spinout on the shower, near the lexington reservoir, the rest of the south bay you could find patches of damp asphalt but mostly we are running at top speeds and accident free through the south bay. back into solano county, westbound 80 an 680 we had an early accident that is still blocking one lane and we are not fining too much traffic in the area if you are making your way out of fairfield toward american canyon and vallejo you are not going to run and too much traffic at least not yet. 680, also looking clear as you continue to the benicia bridge. >> if you plan on flying this summer you may be forced to buy a new carry on suitcase. american's money report is next.

many old rape kits that have been sitting on the pack burner. according to the chronicle the chief said that the city's entire backlog of rape kits will be tested bit end of the year with 400 tests from before 2003 will be tested use money in the department's budget. the pledge means that san francisco stands to join other cities with no backlog of rape kits including new york, cleveland, and houston. >> the secret service is saying little about a bomb threat that forced the evacuation of the white house briefing room during a press conference yesterday. you can see an agent doing a sweep of the room. minutes later someone covered all of the cameras. no explanation was given for that. reporters returned an hour later. the president was in white house at the time but was not evacuated. >> a move by the obama administration will hike wages for millions of americans. here is america's money report. >> topping america's money a raise could be coming for millions of american workers. white house is considering a

headed through the day, it will be mostly cloudy and the showers are most widespread this morning and more scattered in nature this afternoon. we are also throwing in a chance of thunder. temperatures through saturday are above average and the humidity will drop when the temperatures go up. they will be inversely proportional and the heat, really, sunday through tuesday gets temperatures back to average. san francisco and west port 58 at 56 and the warm spot and upper 50s to low 60s until glen park at 63 and all of us are warmer than yesterday. pittsburg is 71. petaluma is coolest at 56. american canyon is union difficult and palo alto at 65. headed through the day, the rain tapers to noon but if we get breaks in the cloud cover that will add some energy to the atmosphere and make it buoyant and a scattered showers and storms is possible.

covering san rafael, south bay, pleasanton and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> welcome back, at 5:44. american medical association has adopt add new policy aimed at protecting young athletes from concussions. the move comes amid concerns that football head injuries may lead to long term health issues. the policy recommends requiring young athletes suspected of having a concussion be removed quickly from a game and returned only with the doctor's concept. the policy encourages doctors and athletic groups to adopt guidelines to evaluate and manage concussions in all athletes. >> the boston red sox fan seriously injured on friday when hit in the head by a broken bat has been upgraded to "fair condition," in boston. brett lawrie sent flowers to the 44-year-old tonya carpenter after her bat struck her in the
