sunshine is peeking out from live cameras a good shield of moisture being put into present mode. showers are few and far between. so we'll zoom in closer to street level now. around antioch just scattered showers south of brettwood. moving south near fremont now, just one lone, light shower and that is it in terms of activity for the evening. outside, sunshine peeking out on our evening sky. this morning we saw record rainfall. a third of an inch of rain. a quarter inch at the oakland airport. mountain view coming out and san jose, some beneficial june rainfall. what to expect over the next couple hours, showers are exiting now. it's muggy and mild throughout the evening. patchy fog will be developing.

>> this incident took place in one of the busiest streets in the city. because of many witnesses. >> saying it's time for a investigation similar to one that was conducted in ferguson missouri the difference is that victims here are latino. >> the san francisco's police chief saying his department has been to test rape kits that have been on the shelves since 2003. a few days ago he refused to apply for grants to test those kits. >> since we can do it with existing funds probably before a grant will be funded, we would have had to give that money back

we have a word of caution about rattlesnakes but you may see more of them than usual. the concern is after a 2-year-old was bitten last night. she's recovering and that is where janet oh is standing by. how is she doing? >> she will be kept here overnight. doctors have given her antivenom and say she's lucky to be treated right way. doctors are monitoring the 2-year-old. she was air lifted to childrens hospital last night she complained about her foot hurting. >> said this looks like dangerous. and called 911. >> her grandfather says she was playing in the backyard it turns out she was bitten by a rattlesnake. her foot started to swell and turn black the venom began to spread.

crews captured the snake minutes after the attack. in folsom, this 4-year-old boy also victim to a rattlesnake bite over the weekend while walking on a bike trail his pregnant mother tried to help but made a big mistake that could have hurt them both. >> the mama bear instinct in me decided to suck the venom out. that is what bonanza does. >> veterinarians say you may see more due to drought. >> with it being dry, a lot of animals are being more concentrated where water sources are. >> that means they can lurk around your home. this rattlesnake was found in a yard in walnut creek. . >> i get a lot of snakes caught in garden netting. >> experts recommend clearing brush. >> once bitten the sooner you can be treated the more likely there will be a resolve quickly. >> the family is thankful that
