in the news, an east bay mother is in custody after police say she kidnapped her baby following visitation. the 16-month-old baby was taken from his home by his mother, kristina rodriguez, yesterday afternoon. abc7 news was there when the boy's father, he would win -- he found out late last night that his son was safe. >> they said they found my son in newark, so that was what i was afraid of, they would leave sunnyvale and go somewhere else. i am so grateful they found him. you don't know how happy i am! the mother, rodriguez, does not have custody of her son. gonzales told us one of her friends shoved a family member out of the way to help her take the baby. the baby was found in good health. >> a scary situation last night in san francisco turned out to be a false alarm.

police began evacuating residents near fifth and market streets after finding what they called a suspicious vehicle on stevenson street. the bomb squad was called in while police closed down the nearby streets. officials gave the all-clear at midnight and no word on why that vehicle was considered suspicious in the first place.r is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he slammed into three other cars in san francisco. abc7 news was on the scene shortly after the crash yesterday at 7th and bryant street. the driver hit three parked cars, and one went into cafe romo, which fortunately was closed. >> he came so fast and he was actually out of control and he was like fishtailing. he was really, really out of control. and i heard like a bomb. it sounded like a bomb and then i saw the glass everywhere. >> no one else was injured. a three-year-old boy is dead

after drowning in a backyard swimming pool in vallejo. it happened around 4:00 yesterday afternoon on california street. police say the boy was playing in the yard of a home when he fell into the pool. a family member pulled him out started cpr and called 911. no charges were filed and police believe it was an excellent. >> firefighters were busy with a grass fire that flared up at least twice. the fire that burned 5 acres broke out around 11:00 a.m. yesterday on creek view drive. damage was done to the roof of one house. crews were able to get control of the situation quickly and left the scene, but they were called back twice when the wind rekindled the smoke and the flames. >> we were getting ready to pull the hoses out, but the fire department game and everyone shut down. the roof over here got some embers on it.

>> neighbors told abc7 news they are trying to figure out how to clean up the brush on the hill behind those homes. a lightning sparked a wildfire in the shasta trinity national forest has grown to 1500 acres and is just 5% -- or about 20% contained. it broke out tuesday about halfway between eureka and redding. no damaged buildings have been reported or injuries. >> california's great america said they are cooperating with state officials investigating a roller coaster accident that sent two people in the hospital. the ride will be shut down until the investigation is complete. a worker is in critical condition this morning. a rider suffered a broken finger. officials say the employee stepped into the path of the ride while trying to get a rider's cell phone. >> make sure they don't do that.

7 hours, 15 minutes and 7 seconds until abc's coverage of game five. the sun should be shining brightly on the warriors. what about your accuweather forecast? lisa is along in just a few. a man who carried a gun to a new york wedding was detained and questioned by police after the firearm went off. it injured five people. it happened last night at the waldorf hotel. it happened when pictures were taken during the reception and the gun discharged. a woman was grazed in the head by a ricochet and four others were hurt by shattered glass. the man with the gun was placed in the back of a police cruiser. and hotel guests were stunned. >> we were walking in and we heard a gunshot. i thought something got dropped. >> we were stunned to arrive here and find out there had been a shot and et cetera, et cetera. >> the wedding ceremony was allowed to continue. it's unclear if the man with the

gun will face any charges. >> a man angered over losing custody of his son triggered a deadly rampage against police in texas. there was a shooting outside a dallas police headquarters yesterday morning. police say the man shot at the building, the officers and their cars. they chased him to a nearby city where a sniper killed him. his father is mourning the loss of his son. >> was he a perfect person? no. none of us are. but did he deserve to lose his son? >> a bomb squad later blew up the armored van driven by the man because he said it was full of explosive. >> no leads 8 days after two convicted murderers escaped from

i was taking pictures around the stadium with the trophy. >> here he is brimming with excitement before heading to the game. >> i handed my ticket to the usher and he scanned it and he said it wasn't scanning. >> why didn't his ticket work? henry rushed to the box office. >> they told me they were counterfeit tickets. >> but they looked so real. the warriors confiscated the fakes, leaving henry out in the cold. >> for me to be stuck outside, you know, definitely is very tough to swallow. >> he drove to a friend's house, watched the game on tv, and to make it worse,the warriors lost. >> it was a tough day for me. >> soon after it happened he talked to us by skype from his central valley home. he was overcome with emotion as he recounted the crushing let down. >> not only losing my money but an opportunity of a lifetime for me being at the nba finals.

coast, we won't change that too much. maybe a couple degrees around the bay. but the inland valleys you are breathing a sigh of relief, perhaps. here's live doppler 7hd. you see the low clouds and fog banked up along the shoreline but we have a couple of weather systems that will be bringing cooler air our way. first one is well up to the north. you see it right there. and that's going to be allowing temperatures to come down a couple degrees today. then there's another one just off screen which will be bringing in the cooler day of the week tomorrow. but this was a hurricane. it's already been downgraded to a tropical storm carlos 70 miles an hour. it continues to barely move. but when it does, it is forecasted to continue to parallel the mexican coast bringing anywhere from five to ten inches of rain, and then dissipating. a look at the beach. pretty cloudy out there. we will be in the upper 60s later on at the boardwalk. right now 61. it's been sunny pretty much all morning long in san jose.

>> it is time once again to relocate the sand along the great highway in san francisco. the southbound lanes will be closed. it is a two-week project will involve moving over 255 cubic yards of the sand away from the sifted roadway toward the ocean. some areas will be closed to traffic up to five days starting tomorrow. that project tries to reduce the likelihood of sand buildup on the highway during windy weather. which it has been quite windy here lately. >> typically breezy with our june pattern really settling in right now. hearings a look from the roof camera. you see the flags out there. we will have the sea breeze up

day of the week should arrive tomorrow. the fog just outside of mt. tam here. still cloudy along the san mateo coast. mountain view still looking at clouds as well as hayward in the east bay. but that will clear and the weather vapor imagery showing how much moisture is in the atmosphere. kind of a zonal flow. this is the system that's allowing for the sea breeze to keep things pretty temperate around here. in the days ahead, much of the work week we aren't going to see much fluctuation so keeping temperatures in and around a couple degrees above average. 96 today yosemite with numbers in sacramento cooling back. 89 there. a cool day in monterey at 65. los angeles 76 degrees. in san jose today about 80. around average. we will look for a few degrees cooler tomorrow and you notice midweek we warm up just a little bit. it's going to take really toward next weekend before we see any real heat arrive. it looks like it should be a pretty warm one next weekend
