a call came in last night to the home in san francisco's bayview neighborhood and there was no emergency at all a child was playing with the phone and doesn'tally called 9-1-1. the officer does not know this a the time and entered the property and encountered a growling 11-year-old pit bull who pit an officer. police shot and killed her. the owners say she was a great pet and wished she had a chance to bring her inside. >> i seen him soot the dog four times. >> what was that like? >> murder. that is what. >> she was our pet. we have had her for over 10 years. it is heartbreaking. >> san francisco police say the officer was bitten several times and the officer shot the dog to stop the attack to prevent further injury and the police officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for the injuries and the family is
