women who were cousins both victims of tuesday's ball colony collapse in berkeley. cornell bernard was at the funeral for olivia burke and ashley donnen donohoe. >> reporter: ashley donohoe was a bright student here at sonoma state. earlier a funeral for two young cousins. >> an outpouring of sorrow, mourners packed the church where two young cousins were remembered. caskets draped in white. >> both of them had a good and promising story, and it came to an abrupt and tragic end. >> reporter: ashley donohoe and olivia burke not just cousins

but good friends. they are were at a birthday party when the ball colony they were standing on collapsed. ashley's mother raced to the scene. >> they were holding each other. >> reporter: the priest said making sense is impossible. the family thanked the community for their support. >> ashley and olivia were two very intelligent, talented and hard working young ladies. they had bright futures ahead of them. we'll fight to make changes so that no family will ever have to go through what we have gone through. >> reporter: friends say ashley could do anything, with her soccer club, studying biology at sonoma state while working two jobs. >> she was such a beautiful person. he energy was amazing.

a second unrelated shooting happened last night in west oakland. police say victor smith was a passenger in a car when someone on the street opened fire. shooting and killing him. new details on an accident involving a car that drove on to a sidewalk in vallejo killing a bomb and injuring five others. investigators now say the driver a 65-year-old man had been at a medical marijuana dispensary before the crash and marijuana was found in his car. rosa novarro of vallejo died at the scene. her four-year-old daughter was injured when the car careened off the road. the driver has not been arrested. [tires screeching] >> chp says three minors they believe may have been involved in this sideshow were arrested overnight in oakland. peopleles a set if fireworks in the area. everyone took off when officers arrived. they chased one car and arrested three people inside the vehicle

after it crashed. president obama is spending this father's day golfing in palm springs with school friends. we were at san francisco international airport as the president boarded air for ones. he was in the bay area for less than 24 hours. he was in town for the u.s. conference of mayors and attended two fundraisers. at the conference president obama discussed gun violence in the wake of wednesday's deadly church shooting in south carolina. gun violence was the topic hillary clinton touched on today during her visit in san francisco. the democratic presidential candidate spoke at the mayor's conference. she called for common sense gun control legislation. >> the costs are too dear, and i am not and will not be afraid to keep fighting for common sense reform and along with you, achieve those on behalf of all who have been lost because of this senseless gun violence in our country.

dino national for yost it's 15,000 acres and 10% contained. 400 structures are threatened but number damage -- nondamaged. the coast guard helped stop an abandoned submerged 40-foot boat from spewing oil into the bay. we were in south san francisco today as crews responded to oyster cove marina. the coast guard received a report just after midnight of the submerged vessel and a strong smell of diesel. a few hours later they had the vent where the oil had been discharging closed and put out a boom to limit the spill. >> the pollution has been contained so won't affect anything outside the containment and it's being removed from what is in the tanks right now. >> the coast guard has not identified the owner of the boat. the antioch water park is back open today following a possible chemical exposure that

shut down the park yesterday. admission fees are reduced today to $12. the sport pool remains closed for further testing. inspectors say the amount of chlorine in the water was high but not dangerous, and they are still not sure what caused people to get sick. music filled the streets of oakland today.
