flown home yesterday. >> after a more than a year of renovation half of dolores park in san francisco has re-opened and thousands were at the park to enjoy the new facilities. sergio hasmer. >> reporter: the city spent $8 million tearing up half of dolores park and then putting it back together again, and on this weekend since its re-open to the public there are plenty of people enjoying it. the rennovated half of dolores park boasts six acres of newly laid turf and in the effort to cut down on the trash collected here there are more and big are trash cans in the whole area. then there's the new 27 star restroom facility that had a long line of park goers waiting to go in. the other half of the park is closed down for the rest of the renovation. >> what do you think about not having that. >> you'll get over it.

a state correction official says illegal drugs are rampant in california prisons. stacks show california inmates die from drug overdoses at almost triple the national average. the prisons have sent $8 million this year alone on
