temperatures. it's muggy out there, 64 by the delta, 63 for concord. santa rosa, the cool spot, 69 degrees. high clouds clear out. low clouds continue to be established along the shoreline. 90s into the central valley. we have 80s for the east bay valleys and plenty of 70s north. about 80 in the south bay. but wait until you see the seven-day outlook. it's getting very warm around here. i'll highlight that for you coming up. carolyn. >> lisa, thank you. san francisco's world famous pride parade will step newspaper a few hours. the weekend celebration made more joyous this year because of the plus supreme court's ruling on same-sex marriage. there was a shooting yesterday near the specific center pride party that put some people on edge. here's sergio quintana with the story. >> police moved in to clear

market street because the pink party ended two hours earlier than usual this year. safety has become one of the main concerns with these events. this is. youtube video of the end of pride festivities at the civic center. you can hear gunshots. the car sped away. >> four to six gunshots went off. we just dropped to the ground. a. >> had a bloody arm and he's screaming and yelling trying to get attention. >> the victim, a 64-year-old bystander was rushed to the hospital of he's in stable condition. the police quickly detained six young men and the task force was called in. the shooting, which was the otherwise day of safe events and 1 million people are expected to converge on san francisco this weekend and most want to celebrate. >> it's so happy, we love it. >> for others it's more special than usual. >> it is an incredible.

that me and my husband can be together not only here not only in this state, but all across america. >> the supreme court decision strikes down the gay marriage ban across the country has set a triumphant new tone. ♪ ♪ >> in san francisco, sergio quintana, abc news. >> sergio mentioned the huge number of people in san francisco this weekend, but the large portion coming from this morning's pride parade. these are scenes from last year. the president of the golden state warriors is this year's grand marshal. there will be a heavy police presence throughout the parade really. goes from market street to beil street to 8th street. bart is running extra trains and there will be extra ferries to get you in and out of the city. the pride parade ends at the civic center where yesterday the lgbt community took over the streets.

it was a day of celebration whether you are gay or straight. >> this man jumped on me and said we can get married whenever we want! >> if we are allowed to get married, everyone else should be. what's the difference? >> this morning's pride parade is expected to be the largest in their 45 year history and that's partly due to the supreme court decision. the theme of this year's parade is "equality without exception." ♪ ♪ >> abc7 news was atop twin peaks in san francisco for champagne and singing yesterday morning. this is a pride weekend celebration every year. the giant pink triangle for all of the city to city. that symbol was used by the nazzis to put homosexuals to death in world war ii. now it serves as a symbol of

pride. >> one heckler interrupted the pink triangle dedication ceremony trying to shout down the commissioner. they chanted back saying "show respect." we have detailed information on all the pride events this weekend. you can find it on our website abc7news.com. show your video and your pictures of this weekend's pride events with us on social media. just post them with the #abc7 now. the family of one of the victims in the berkeley deck collapse said the deck had an unusual slope before it gave way. the family have alerted prosecutors of witness accounts describing the shape of the balcony.

six people died after falling five stories. seven were hurt. the city confirms the balcony's wooden beams had severe dry rot caused by moisture and said the building was up to date on all inspections >> firefighters moved quickly when a wildfire raced through dry brush in sacramento late yesterday afternoon. flames destroyed a barn and threatened homes near north nokomis near the sacramento international airport. >> it is a fast-moving wind-driven fire. we want to make sure nobody has been injured. it's a very explosive situation but fortunately we got aggressive. >> and even with that fast response, the fire grew from 5 acres to 100 in a short period of time. firefighters advised, but did not order nearby residents to leave the area while they fought the fire. new this morning, law enforcement officials report a

tri-county task force has siezed a huge amount of marijuana plants during the raid in the heart of northern california's emerald triangle. more than 86,000 plants were seized during the four-day raid. cash, weapons and thousand it is of pounds of pot were recovered. they used 500,000 gallons of water a day. at least one professional business expert said thumbs down to the latest stadium proposal for the raiders. part of the deal called for the raiders to sell a 20% stake in the team to the private developer. they also said they would get no money from housing, retail space built on the property. the raiders are also considering a return to the los angeles area. that's where they played from 1982 to '94.

you can buy fireworks legally in fewer and fewer places around the bay area as many cities have banned the practice. today residents can go to newark to buy so-called safe fireworks leading up to the 4th of july. many nonprofits depend on it to raise money for sports and scholarships. >> gives scholarships to the latino community graduates and stuff like this. we don't select, we just donate the money and they pick the most deserving, i guess. >> even if fireworks are legal in your community, there are still laws about where they can and cannot be used. >> the grateful dead, an iconic band that got its start in the bay area, is making music again this weekend. look at the crowd inside levi's stadium. it was a packed house last night. it's expected to be the same tonight. the band is back together for a

farewell mini tour. abc7 fuse was there for the action. >> tens of thousands of fans poured into levi's stadium for what they say will be the most memorable show of their lifetime. >> all five shows i'm going to. i'm a grateful dead dedicated fan. >> the core mechanics are kicking off their minute new tour it a sold-out crowd. they aren't just any fans, they are called dead heads, they have been following the band for decades, and for them this is a special night considering it's the first time the group is playing as the grateful dead since jerry garcia died in 1995. >> 1982 is my first show. and really looking forward to feeling jerry's energy here again. >> it's a whole lifestyle. it's a lifestyle. it never goes away. been doing it for years. probably over 60 shows i've seen

? more than 500 people remain hospitalized in taiwan injured after a fire on a music stage spread into a crowd of spectators during a party. ironically the fire happened at a water park. eight of the wounded are fighting for their lives. fire officials say flames were sparked by an explosion of theatrical powder that was sprayed in front of the stage in front of a crowd of about 1,000 people. most of the victims were burned on their lower body. >> knew this morning, greece is on the verge of financial collapse. people are lining up in front of atm's to take their money out of the bank. some of the lines have gone around street corners. this morning the leaders stunned their international lenders by

urging voters to reject the call for financial reform in exchange for loans. greece could default as early as tuesday when it must make a loan repayment of nearly $2 million of the international monetary fund. the chairman of nascar wants to remove the confederate flag from racing events. he calls it offensive and insensitive symbol. nascar's next race is later today at the sonoma raceway. in south carolina yesterday, two activists who were arrested for removing the confederate flag from the state house have been released from jail. the flag was hoisted back up. calls to remove the confederate flag has been renewed since the deadly church attack last week. a business owner in sacramento county said he's had a death threat because he's flying a confederate flag. he owns a gun shop in elk grove. the flag flies outside the front

door. it wasn't there before friday. he and an employee decided to put it up after national businesses such as walmart decideed to ban the flag. >> all this just over a flag. if we want to really look back at it, then why are we -- why are people having a problem with my company or this company flying this flag when there are other people who are tearing apart the american flag that people died for. >> he said it hasn't all been negative. he said he's received compliments from some customers for standing his ground. >> the supreme court decision legalizing same-sex marriage is the lead story this morning on "this week." the man behind the case will be interviewed and 2016 presidential candidate mike huckabee will comment on the decision. you can see it here on abc7 at 8:00 this morning right after

good morning good morning america. the movie "inside-out" grossed $91 million in the opening week. that's the best opening for an original pixar movie. it's about a young girl that learns to leave with five of her personified emotions. film's producers cult add number of researchers and psychologists, including a u.c. berkeley professor. we take the closer look. >> the movie has five emotions living inside of 11-year-old reilly anderson who now lives in san francisco. >> reilly, i do not like this new attitude. >> what is your problem? just leave me alone! >> it is a labor of love initiated by director. >> most people had kids and there was always open discussion like my kid is doing this my

kid did that. so it was very -- lots to talk about family. >> understanding the emotional expression in an 11-year-old was not an easy task. pixar turned to u.c. berkeley psychology department for help. >> if people can embrace their motions and let them happen and not suppress them, you do better, right? the film kind of tells us that. >> you can't focus on what's going wrong. there's always a way to turn things around. >> the film has been an instant hit. >> gives a sense of legitimacy to kids struggling with emotional stuff. >> i try to calm down and just like bring myself back. >> it's an eye-opener for parents who try to sometimes emotionally rescue their kids. >> it's a constantly a learning curve being a mother. >> we always felt this was something special, but for now for the world to be giving it this attention and response, it's amazing.

>> pixar believes it's destined to be a classic. in emeryville. lyanne melendez, abc7 news. >> and pixar, like abc7, is part of the disney companies. and i i was thinking with reilly curry isn't enough to make the name popular, the girl in the movie is named reilly, as well. >> very cute. >> good morning. we are starting off with cloud cover. that's not new. but the high and mid-level clouds making it muggy out there with the monsoonal moisture streaming up into california. a lot of this is not reaching the ground. but we have had a few sprinkles while you were sleeping up in sonoma county. we go in for a closer look where the radar is situated. we are looking at the green here, indicating perhaps a few sprinkles south of hidden valley. also toward santa rosa and out toward i-80 in fairfield.

otherwise the atmosphere will gradually get dryer today. we will look at the stratus at the coast and then things really heating up with a northerly wind taking over. the west wind from the roof camera, 60 in san francisco. so it is pretty muggy out there. 63 in san jose. the coolest numbers have dropped to just the upper 50s. so it has been rather filed. we will lack for the on shore push to dry things out again throughout the day. 64 by the delta. plenty of sunshine on the way for all of these cities. 6 to napa punch it may take toward midday, san francisco and the north bay. waking up from anywhere 2 to 6 degrees warmer than yesterday, just due to the subtropical moisture in the atmosphere. you see the sunshine here in san jose. muggy and mild for most this morning. partly cloudy closer to the coast and bay, but then more sunshine throughout you are a east bay valleys. but temperatures still pretty

summer-like. not too hard to take today. but that all changes as soon as tomorrow when the heat arrives. high pressure builds quickly. so the quarter vapor imagery shows the stream of moisture coming up from the south. that's going to shift more to the west today, the flow. so as it does, we will dry out but then the highs build back and that will allow for the:heat could tom back into play tomorrow. this isn't just a one-day event. and it's been the scenario week after week. we could see it again next weekend. livermore mid-80s. near 90 tomorrow. look what happens tuesday and wednesday, over 100 degrees. then when we cool, we don't cool that much. into the mid-90s. pride celebrations today. cloudy 10:00 and by the afternoon we will begin it see more sunshine. 60s. and 64 by 6:00. pretty pleasant afternoon. around the bay today temperatures not changing too much from yesterday. low 80s napa, 677 fremont, 84

concord, 73 in san mateo and over in oakland today another nice afternoon with plenty of sunshine. temperatures in the upper 60s right on through the afternoon with the west wind about 15 miles an hour. accuweather seven-day forecast we will see plenty of sun by the afternoon. and then the warmup tomorrow really taking shape tuesday and wednesday. 80s around the bay. it will warm modestly and then a slight dip thursday and 4th of july on saturday with the summer spread 60s to 90s. >> and high fire danger. that's the downside? >> of course. >> thank you, lisa. we will be right back.

subtropical moisture continues to stream up into much of california and mainly in the north bay. so taking a look around mount st. helena hidden valley. a few light sprinkles. otherwise much of this is not reaching the ground. heading out toward the delta you may run into a few sprinkles. otherwise we have this from vollmer peak. isn't it pretty? the low clouds below high clouds above. sun has been up for about 40 minutes. pretty shot. muggy conditions, though. 64 by the delta and 63 in livermore. the cool spot, 59 in santa rosa. we will look for dryer conditions this afternoon. seasonable temperatures. i'll have them in a few minutes. >> thank you, lisa. let's turn to the manhunt for the second escaped prisoner inñi upstate new york. police believe he will have a tougher time escaping now that he's alone.

with we have more from new york. >> an all-out manhunt for david sweat. helicopters in the air and on the ground. >> terrifying. i've never been so scared in all my life. i've had my husband look up. >> finding sweat is personal for law enforcement. serving a life sentence after shooting a sheriff's deputy 22 times. it's believe he's hiding in the dense woods where friday border patrol agents shot and killed richard, his partner, about 20 miles from the canadian boarder and 45 miles from the prison where the two disappeared from two weeks ago. >> unbelievable. >> bob called 911 after finding his cabin burglarized. >> took binoculars and two pairs of boots. >> according to police, he had the 20-gauge shotgun with i am

him. refused verbal commands to surrender and was shot dead. and abc learned when he was killed he appeared to be intoxicated. his autopsy results are pending. and sweat is likely to make a mistake now that he's alone and desperate. abc news, new york. >> and there is rugged terrain to reach the area where nine people died in thursday's tragedy in alaska in a plane crash. two were from california. >> i've known him since college and he's known around the area. i remember him just being really excited about this trip. >> pilots often encounter strong winds and heavy rain in the crash area. all the passengers on board took the flight as a side trip from their alaskan cruz. that ship returned early yesterday morning to seattle.

passengers said a memorial service for the victims was conducted on board. the journey back from alaska, bittersweet. he said the accident did not ruin their trip but had them counting their blessings. one passenger, a private pilot blamed the weather for the crash. an unusually large and strong storm for this time of the year is in the northeast right now. it also spawned a tornado that radioed through north carolina. it ripped shingles off of houses, uprooted trees and left lakes of rainwater and caused sporadic power outages. no injuries have been reported. also this morning at least four people are reported dead from severe flooding in misdemeanor. -- in maryland. another shark attack in north carolina. the sixth one this month. the national park service said a 17-year-old was bitten while swimming yesterday.

rescue crews said the teenager had injuries to his right buttocks, hands and both hands t -- both attacks come one day after a north carolina man was bitten by a shark while swimming. >> >> a person found an 8 .2 diamond at the arkansas's park. it is the fifth largest diamond found by a visitor since the park was established back in 1972. at this time she said she plans to keep that diamond. >> still ahead the $9,200 stove with a major problem. michael finney gets action that a government watchdog could not. and here's a live look from our exploratorium cam. if you like it hot, you are going to love the weather in store this week. lisa argen will have your forecast in just a few.

flying in the breeze. nice weather for today's pride parade with thousands and thousands of people coming into san francisco. lisa argen along shortly with the full accuweather forecast. one bay area man got a pretty good scare recently when his stove top grill suddenly erupted in sparks. turns out there was a hole in the gas burner. "7 on your side" michael finney came to the rescue and the story doesn't end there. >> richard loves cooking on his blue star grill. if only he didn't have to worry about another blast. >> i was preparing the grill to cook dinner, and all of a sudden there was a shower of sparks. >> he looked at the grill top and there was the problem. >> i discovered there was a big hole in the gas burner. >> he shows us that hole. a good half-inch around. he said the heat had shorted the igniter, sending up the sparks.

>> the next day i called the company. >> blue star replaced the burner immediately, and richard started grilling again. however, four months later he said it's happening again. >> the second unwas beginning to fail, just like the first one. you could see the ripples starting to develop. >> he's showing us the new gas burner. it looks worn in the same spot as the old one. >> at that point i was sufficiently alarmed. >> richard wrote a detailed report and sent it to blue star and to the retailer, ferguson enterprises. he also notified the consumer product safety commission. >> the only people who called me was the consumer product protection agency. >> an investigator came and took his report, saying it seems the problem is indeed happening again. the cpsc has taken no further action. richard still worries about the grill so he contacted "7 on your side." we contacted blue star, and it tells us their stoves are safe saying there is no defect and no

safety issues caused by the stove top griddle on the ranges. all are designed to meet the highest standards. next we contacted ferguson and we got action. >> the next day the company called me and offered me a full refund for the full $9400. >> the price of the full purchase price of the range. >> it was a great release. >> they said they have had only seven service requests on the rain knowledge the past ten years and other than richard, no one has raised a safety issue. we will keep watch. >> i'm staying away from the heat of a stove today. that isn't any different than any other day for me, though. >> a safety warning for anyone about to fire up the barbecue this holiday. loose bristles from cleaning brushes can pose a danger especially if they land in your food. they advise checking your brush or use a bristle-free brush. recently one man needed surgery to remove a tiny wire from his mouth and another woman had one removed from her intestine. these days you can 3d print just about anything, including a a high performance race car. that's exactly what was on display at the second annual solid conference in san francisco. as abc7 news reporter jonathan bloom explains, it's all about the rapidly-changing business of making hardware. >> where else would you find an old bmw being turned into a race car in the middle of a conference? a conference where it's totally acceptable to cruise the exhibits on your one wheel or your new tricycle.

[laughter] >> just a little bit. >> what a stinker. >> all right. we are looking at a dryer atmosphere today than we were when you probably were sleeping because we have these sprinkles. we are looking at live doppler 7hd showing the moisture pulling up from the south. now things have really settled down. but if we go in just north of our sweep of mount st. helena, you can still see a few returns by clear lake, hidden valley and maybe a few raindrops out there. overall it's cloud cover and muggy conditions high relative humidity and the flow out of the southeast that will shift to the west-southwest. and that allows for dryer conditions today. 64 in mountain view. 60 in san francisco.

half moon bay 69. pretty good visibility as the deck of low clouds is higher today. cloudy skies all the way through the delta, and our east bay valleys. although you have some sun and it's sunny in parts of the south bay. 63 in livermore, and sfo right now. you can see some breaks in the overcast. so looking to muggy conditions earlier and partly cloudy and mostly sunny this afternoon. much warmer for the work week ahead. then another ten degrees on tuesday. look for dribble digit heat tuesday and wednesday. the water vapor in the atmosphere over the entire state. enjoy today because after today this is pushed off to the east. high pressure builds back from the southwest. and we will be looking at much warmer weather. so subtropical moisture and really by the afternoon with the low clouds and fog banked up along the coast, it will feel pretty much lake it did

yesterday. some gusty winds at the shoreline. the red flag warning has been dropped for the sierra nevada. but still the cans of an isolated storm up through the northern sierra. 97 in yosemite. so the cooler weather comes with just the cloud cover. still quite hot throughout the central valleys. up in sonoma, it is a cloudy start. 60s. mid-70s by about 11:00, and by 3:00 upper 70s. pretty nice afternoon there. and working the cloud cover back to the coast the high clouds thing out. upper 70s today in fremont. 78 vallejo. looking upper 70s palo alto. about 80 #* 80 again in san jose. san francisco and oakland a pleasant afternoon with more sun on the way. if you are headed into san francisco, at&t park about 1:00 we will see partly cloudy skies. mid-60s. the temperature holds right on throughout the day. accuweather forecast and the warmup starts tomorrow as high pressure buds. the west winds back off.
