it's really inspirational on how far we have come. >> san francisco pride hit the streets to celebrate the game gains made in the struggle for equality. i'm katie marzullo. the largest pride parade celebration in the country moved down market street today. [bagpipes playing] >> record numbers of spectators came to san francisco to be part of the celebration, just days after the supreme supreme court's landmark decision on marriage equality nationwide. cornell bernard is live in san francisco with the festivities.

i. >> the pride parade ended an hour ago. more than a million folks were estimated. it's estimated even more showed up to celebrate unity, pride, and marriage equality. it's a pride parade like no other, and this year pride is everywhere. dana hamilton knew she had to be here. >> to celebrate my friends and family that are gay and lesbian and the historical time it is right now. >> reporter: the supreme court decision opening the door for marriage equality nationwide provided the theme for this year's parade. >> you can feel the vibrations of hope and the feeling of equality. this is it. this is right here in san francisco. >> i'm just so overwhelmed with emotion. >> he was guest of honor his name is on the supreme court

urged facebook to end its real names policy. many transgender people, including drag queens fear being forced to use their legal names online will expose them to potential abuse. i want facebook to accept immigrants and people who don't -- who have to choose anywhere name in order to be themselves in the world. >> transgender activists have protested against facebook several time. they held this rally at company headquarters this month. facebooked by saying, quote, having people use their authentic names helps protect our community for dangerous interaction. >> the richmond police department tweet this picture. this is the recruiting team at the parade looking for people interested in joining the force. san francisco mayor ed lee tweet out this picture. you see him here with the san jose mayor at the annual pride breakfast held by the lgbt

democratic club. >> we invite you to sayre you videos and pictures with us on social media. post them with the hash tag abc7 new. san francisco police have made some arrests at this weekend's pride celebrations and there were some safety scares, including a shooting that police say was unrelated to the pride event. this is youtube video taken near the civic center, toward the end of the pride festivities. in it you hear several gunshots. a 64-year-old map was wounded. officers detained six people. police say during yesterday's events downthey made three felony arrests arrested ten people for public drinkenness, and seized four handguns. duffelling news from new york. this man, david sweat, is now in custody, three weeks after escaping from a mask security prison. sweat's capture comes two days after officers shot and killed his fellow escapee.

here's more. >> report that the scene is secure. >> reporter: captured two days after law enforcement gunned down his accomplice, the escaped convict, david sweat, is now custody. >> please be advised to use caution while driving. name rouse state police units in route. >> reporter: 1300 law enforcement officers swarmed upstate new york this weekend hot on sweat's trail. a source familiar with the investigation telling abc news the convict killer's dna showed up on a piece of food about one mile from where a border agent killed fellow escapee richard matt on friday, and investigators believed they had the second man trapped inside their perimeter. sweat made it less than 50 miles from the prison in the three weeks since the escape. the source says friday's showdown with his accomplice came after richard matt coughed alerting officers to his location. >> members engaged subject matt, who was hidden in the woods, and following engagement with him

verbally, u.s. border patrol agent fired his weapon killing the subject matt. >> the autopsy revealed matt died from three bullet wounds to the head. he had bug bites, blisters and abrasions on his lower legs consistent with someone living in the woods three weeks. the source says officers found whiskey nearby but it's unknown if he was drunk. toxicology results are penning. police believe the two men were still traveling together before matt died, not far from bob's cabin. he said he called police after discovering items missing. >> binoculars and two pairs of boots. >> now investigator can see if david sweat will fill in the gaps now that he is back in handcuffs. abc news malone, new york. >> police hope to solve a mid-in fremont after map was found shot to death inside a park. two people reported seeing the body in the bushes at the coyote hills regional park on patterson

ranch road near the shoreline of san francisco bay. the park police say the man was wounded in the chest and did not appear to have been there that long. it was quite a shock to a regular park visiter we talked with. >> very surprising. i guess we come here regularly and we live in the area so we don't hear that very often. >> things like this irrare in the park district. we don't see any threat to public safety. >> the sheriffs bureau is trying to identify the victim. in the details in a hit-and-run collision in ben nearby sham police announced the arrest of erik knight. he is accused in a hit-and-run last sunday that left lou was torres in critical condition. torres' sister says he remains in a coma but a his pupils are dilating and the family is praying for a miracle. a gofundme account has been set up to help pay for medical expenses.

take a look at some pictures from a major pot raid in northern california. agents and officers seized more than 86,000 plants during the four-day raid. the plants were using 500,000-gallons of water a day in this is a picture of a giant bladder used to store the water. officers they also seized at least 16 firearms and 50,000 rounds of ammunition. the raid happened in the remote island mountain region where three counties meet. the sheriffs office says it was among the largest pot-growing busts they've made. a serious setback today for the spacex program. an unmanned rocket headed to the space station exploded. >> liftoff of the spacex falcon nine rocket. as you can see, it got off to a good start this morning in florida but just two minutes into the mission disaster, debris rain us down as the rocket exploded.

francisco, but a nice night is on the way for much of the bay area. currently 78 in santa rosa, 79, napa. 83 fairfield of the. concord, 76. and we're not seeing any extreme heat today. it's rather nice across the region. live doppler 7hd along with satellite showing you we have an area of low pressure off the coast. it brought is the clouds, broke for some sunshine, and now we're watching this large area of high pressure just off to the east. it will streaken -- strengthen tomorrow and then on tuesday it's going to crank the heat across the region. so future weather, 5:00 in the morning monday a little fog across parts of the region, not overcast skies, but we notice by 8:00 the fog is breaking down and by the early afternoon hours, lots of sunshine for your monday, and temperatures will stay in check. they will be very june-like. tuesday temperatures skyrocket. so highs for the monday, our
