right now, live breaking news. and two stories, breaking in san francisco tonight, a woman gunned down steps from the ferry building. police comb the pier tonight for clues. good evening. more on that story in a moment, first, we will begin with this breaking story in san francisco where a motorcyclist plowed in to a number of people at market and third street. we are on the scene. >> reporter: dan we just talked to a witness to the terrible crash. we will hear from him in a moment. first it has been a chaotic seen for hours. market street is closed. where a motorcyclist literally ran over pedestrians. now,ty a look at video that we just shot. wrecked motorcycle is down at

the market near third. police say, at 9:10 tonight the rider of the motorcycle struck several pedestrians ss ss who were crossing in the crosswalk. witnesses say the motorcycle was speeding, traveling up third street on to market. this witness was feet away when his friend was hit. >> the motorcyclist kind of jumped on the curb hits the friend she falls face forward and he copmes and hits the news stand and in doing so hit somebody else. >> reporter: he said that it happened so fast. four people were taken to the hospital tonight on one with life threatening injuries. the motorcycle rider was among the injured. back live here, the market street has been shut down here for several hours t the investigation continues we don't know what caused the motorcyclist to do what he did

toept. we are live on market street in san francisco. >> thank you very much to the other major breaking story a woman shot and killed next to the ferry building. it's always packed with tourists and locals. and not an area where you expect a shooting. we are there live allen. >> reporter: dan this is one of san francisco's most scenic tourist spots. just down from the ferry building. it is very rare for something like this to happen, but it did happen. let me show who onyou amateur video shot from a 15th floor apartment after the occupant heard a gun shot. a 30-year-old woman was whackalking and a man can came up and shot her in the torso. they are not sure had what the motivation was and police may have the suspect in custody.

within the hour after the shooting, police detained a person of interest at pier 40, just north of at&t park. he is being questioned right now. a person claiming to be a friend of the victim was saying that the victim was with her father when she was shot. an ambulance rushed her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead around 8:30. >> i walked over and they were performing some type of thing, like cpr. on a lady and they took her on the stretcher. >> we are asking anyone, any member of the public. if they cap chred my of it on their krelg phone if they witnessed any of it. come forward and contact sfpd. >> reporter: back live where police are questioning several witnesses there were at least 20 people on and around the area when it happened. police should have detailed information to work with. live in san francisco abc 7

see flames are moving up the hill. at least 70 acres have burned and it's moving toward lake paris state park where campers have evacuated. no homes however, are threatened. a federal investigation is has cleared a sonoma county deputy in the shooting death of 13-year-old andy lopez in october of 2013. lopez was carrying a toy gun that looked like an ak 47 when he was shot on a sidewalk. residents were outraged by this young man's death. calling them victim of occasional profiling. but the department of justice found no civil rights violations. the deputy felt that the gun that was being carried was a real assault rifle. he has since returned to work. san francisco is setting up a new office to deal with short-term rentals like air b and b, the chronicle reports that the six person panel will be announced. it will be a one stop shop.

so far, only a fraction of the 5,000 hosts in the city registered saying the process is too much. abc 7 news was in a large rally in the mission district. people gathered in a lgbt mural that has been vandalized. it has been spray painted twice and now this week it has been set on fire. the investigators are treating these attacks as a possible hate crime. >> the vandalism and the hatred does did not reflect what the mission is about. does not reflect what san francisco is about. >> supervisor david campos, it was created by a collective. that spent $3,000 to get rid of the spray paint and now the gallery has to spend more money to get rid of the latest mess. well, remarkable story about a woman reunited at least

from a son that was taken from her 15 years ago. the boy's father vanished with him when he was just three years old and for the first time since, mother and son are back together. we are live in campbell now with how it happened. katie. >> reporter: dan, this is a story about hope, a woman named hope, she and her 18-year-old son jonathan are flying back to the south bay right now from hex co, -- from mexico all while trying to reestablish their bond. hope has not seen her son jonathan since he was 3 years old. his father kidnapped him and took him to mexico in 2000. jonathan said he knew his mom was in tus. and -- was in the u.s. and that is all. like me, i didn't know where he was. >> reporter: this past january, holland saw this face on facebook and recognized it

to a cockpit scandal the pilots allowed a model to come in, take selfies and take control. >> reporter: as the engines roar, and the plane rolls down the run way, the hand on the throttle that controls the engine does not belong to the pilots. that hand and voice belonged to a model and actress. the video she shot going viral capturing images ss inside the cockpit during the most critical stages of the flight. and the crew turns their back on the controls. after sharing the disturbing images, both pilots were fired. the airline banned her for five
