you see unusual weather where u live this morning or any time take the photo or video, and share it with us using the #abc 7 now. you may see one of our news casts featuring your photo. police questioned a person of interest for the shooting death of a woman in a popular tourist area in san francisco. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield joins us live. >> reporter: this is an area where you would not expect to hear about a shooting. we are just down the way from the ferry building right here on the embarcadero at pier 14. the shooting happened at 6:30 last night. we have some amateur video to show you that was taken right after the shooting. the witness heard the gunshot and videoed this from a a woman. a 34-year-old woman was shot and killed. she was visiting this scenic site with her father. several witnesses say they tried to help the victim.

>> i walked over and they were performing some type of thing, like cpr, on a lady and then they took her on a stretcher. >> we're asking anyone, any member of the public, if they captured any of this on their cell phone, if they witnessed any of this, to please come forward and contact sfpd. >> reporter: detectives did find and detain a man who fit the description of a person who may have shot her. they have not said whether he was arrested or if they believe that he killed her. they did question him last night. they also haven't said what they think the motivation is behind this shooting. they are asking for anyone with any information, video, pictures please come forward and help them with this case. this morning, san francisco police are investigating a motorcycle accident that sent four people to hospitals. police say the motorcycle hit a group of people in a crosswalk as they crossed market street just after 9:00 last night.

witnesses say the motorcycle was speeding up third on to market. one man was just feet away when his friend was hit. >> the motorcyclist kind of jumped on to the curb. he hits our friend. she falls. he comes and he hits the news stand here and in doing so, he hit someone else. >> four people went to the hospital including the motorcyclist motorcyclist. one person has life threaten injuries. firefighters are looking at what caused a building in pet alum ma to catch fire. the fire was knocked down quickly. there were no reports of any injuries. >> southern california crews this morning battling a fast-moving vegetation fire in moreno valley. flames are moving toward the state park where campers are

being evacuated. the cause of the fire has not been determined. this morning an update on the investigation of a fatal balcony collapse in berkeley. a judge is resuming a hearing a temporary order. the d.a. rejected the demand to have experts present when investigators examined the wreckage. the da's office opened a criminal probe on the june 16th avenue that killed several people. no charges will be filed against a sheriff's deputy in shooting and killed a 13-year-old boy, andy lopez. lopez was carrying a toy gun that looked like an ak-47 as he walked down a sidewalk in santa rosa. residents were outraged by his

death calling him the victim of racial profiling. the deputy said he thought the air soft pellet gun was a real assault rival. 300 people attended a to show support for the lgbt community and to a mural illustrateing gay life. the mural has been vandalized three time. one speaker said the gay community will not be intimidated. >> the targeted violence that has been visited upon the mural, and violent actions and rhetoric on social media sends a that we're chicanos do not exist. we do exist. >> they have spent $3000 it to repair the mural and now have to

spend even more to clean up the latest mess. happening today san francisco mayor ed lee announcing a move to streamline registrations and investigate violators. the february, board says they have to register. hosts complain the process is confusing and crumb -- coupler some. three parks have been closed due to conditions. they will close from 8:00 tomorrow night until 6:00 a.m. monday. yosemite is issuing stage 1 fire restrictions because of high fire dangers there. cooking fires are being banned in most areas of the park.

welcome back. it's 4:42 on this thursday. 5,000 tennessee residents may not be able to return home for 48 hours after a rail car full of a flammable and toxic gas caught fired. it happened near midnight near the town of maryville in southern tennessee, the car was carrying a colorless and poisonous gas used to make resins and rubber. a massachusetts man is recovering this morning after becoming the 7th shark attack victim in north carolina this

summer. rescue crews say the man bumped into the 7-foot shark in waist deep water. his injuries include multiple shark bites to his torso, hip lower left leg and hands. the average price of a airline ticket has risen. we have more on a justice department investigation into whether the airlines planned this all along. >> reporter: packed planes, higher fares and those ever increasing fees, the justice department is now investigating whether those frustrations for travelers are the result of potentially unlawful coordination by what are now the four major airlines, united delta, american and southwest controlling 80% of the market after a series of mergers. >> the history of this industry is one of collusion, and the department of justice has a responsibility to investigate because it's approved mergers.
