unknown reason and tinto a tree. you can see the car hype us. it is still here and police are investigating the scene actively. it happened five hours ago. the suspect's car a honda has bullet holes. it could be hard to see in the dark. witnesses heard a loud crash and shots fires. witnesses saw police pull the suspect out of the car. they thought he was dead but first responders came out and took the man to a local hospital. we are still waiting to find out from officials more information about what happened and we do not know how many officers were involved or if anyone else was hurt. the shooting is still "under investigation," and the scene remains closed. >> new details in the deadly police shooting in pleasanton after officers responded to a report of a break in 59 a

hollyfield is in the newsroom with more. >> he gave specific details about the killing and he also said he wants the harshist punishment. the 32-year-old kate steinle was shot on wednesday while taking in the sights at pier 14 with her father. sanchez told cornell bernard he took some sleeping pills, was wandering around the pier and he found the gun and it went off >> you found the gun on the round? >> yes. >> it was wrapped in a t-shirt? >> yes. >> sanchez then tossed the gun into the bay and did not realize he had shot someone until he was arrested an hour later. he said he is feeling sorry for everyone even the family. sanchez has been deported five times to mexico and kept running to san francisco because he knew

it was a sanctuary city where he would not be pursued by immigration officials. >> kate steinle's dad and brother have no comment on sanchez jailhouse interview but want to focus on her life and legacy. her father was what his daughter on pier 14 when she was shot and used cpr on her a skill he learned in the military. another man stepped in to help, neither knew what happened until they saw the bullet wound in her back. her brother brad, expecting a baby girl said he just lost his best friend. >> i hope there is a part of her soul and i look at my baby i can remember her. >> we want the people in the world to know and san francisco to know kindness will win the battle against evil and kate steinle would want that. >> they miss everything about her but her spirit is helping
