steinle was killed to pray for her. the archdiocese of san francisco actually does this arranging a rare service for every murder victim in the city a week in their death. but this murder has captured the attention of the nation. you can see how many reporters attended the service although the priest said he would be here no matter who she was and they pray for the soul of the man accused of murdering her. the accused killer has a criminal record and has been deported to mexico five times. this story is getting national attention. in an exclusive jailhouse interview with abc7, francisco sanchez explains he kept coming here because it is a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants. >> did you shoot kate steinle, the lady who was down on pier 14? >> yes. >> you did shoot her? >> ran cisco sanchez said the shooting was an descend. he found the gun under a bench

their goal is $50,000. as of this morning they have raised $7,300 in donations. if you would like to help we have a link on our website abc.com . >> a teen is in critical condition after being shot by san pablo police after a traffic stop. a police officer was treated for injuries after the incident that began at 11:30 last night. janet o has more. janet? >> police say the teen was driving a stolen car. several officers tried to stop him. they say he kept on going. the teen is from san pablo. his identity and age have yet to be released. he is being treated at a local hospital for critical injuries. the teen was driving the stolen honda when officers tried to initiate the stop. they say he accelerated the car toward an officer and struck a patrol car. then he hit another car before finally crashing. >> the stolen vehicle struck the officer's patrol vehicle.

the officer discharmed his service weapon at the subject striking the subject once. the officer who was standing outside his patrol car was also injured and is being treated. there is no word open his condition. san pablo police and the contra costa district attorney's office is investigating the death. >> thank you. neighbors in a san mateo housing complex were sunday after police say a woman beat another to death with a baseball bat. we have new information this morning on the attack. our reporter is at the scene. >> yes we are in front of apartment complex where this happened. according to police and neighbors, the women were friends but police say the 40-year-old brenda martinez turned herself into police on saturday telling them she killed her friend with a baseball bat. >> the neighbor said she was

shocked to learn of the death she was not surprised to learn who had confessed to the crime. >> i just told my landlady a couple of weeks ago i was nervous about her. i was scared of her. weapon she is on your bad tide -- side my god. >> miss martinez came to the front and called to dispatch and said i need to speak to an officer to report a homicide. i difficulty. >> san mateo police say she did not report an argument but said she did not like the conversation she was having with her friend and neighborhood. >> she grabbed a back and hit the victim. >> the victim had no known family. >> she is a sweet lady minded her own business. just went every day, took her walks. >> the coroner has not yet released the victim's name. when we have that name we will share it with you.

reporting in san mateo for abc7 news. >> thank you. the bay area serial stowaway is out of police custody after yet another arrest. chicago police arrested 63-year-old marilyn hartman on saturday at o'hare international airport saying she tried to get through airport security without a ticket. the day before that on friday, the homeless woman was arrested at chicago's midway airport. they say she had a valid ticket that time and was escorted off the plane after a disturbance. she was released on jail on thursday for trying to get past security at o'hare and midway in april and may. in august she snuck on a plane from san jose to los angeles. >> today marks the second anniversary of a deadly plane crash at san francisco international airport as they face a new class-action lawsuit that was filed against south korean based asiana airlines involves 53 passengers. two years ago the flight that originated in seoul crashed into the seawall at sfo while trying

to land. three teen girls died. 187 people were hurt including a woman from china. she and her husband sat down with me for an interview after her surgeries for pleading in the brain and a fractures ankle. i just checked in with them. she is back at work but she needs monthly therapy and counseling, too afraid to fly. they have received no money from asiana beyond the initial assistance. the airline is refusing to have foreign citizens' cases heard in the united states where the companies is much higher. investigators have blame the crash on pilot error. >> new details in a condo fire in hercules. an unstended pot on a stove caused a fire to break out in the complex last night destroying two condos before being brought under control. a woman escaped from the balcony and everyone else got out safely. the red cross is working to help

13 in livermore. ten in hayward and sfo. north of the bay bridge through the tell extra. starting at 2:00 through 9:00. the winds will be aggressive. be careful. from the east bay hills camera you can see a few of the mid-to-upper clouds a main stray in the forecast the next couple of afternoons and same in san jose. here are my three main points to expand upon the forecast as we hook from sutro tower where it is hazy. one of the byproducts of having a cooler-than-average to average summer so far we have not had "spare the air" days with a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon and drizzle in the afternoon and dry thunderstorms and fire danger on wednesday and thursday. mid-to-upper 70s for most of the south bay. san jose is 79. mid-80s in los gatos and morgan hill and gilroy. from 68 in millbrae to 72 in san mateo to about 78 in los altos. low-to-mid 60s along the coast into downtown and 69 in south san francisco. low-to-mid 70s up 101 but over to sonoma and calistoga upper

70s. along the east bay shore berkeley and oakland upper 60s and low-to-mid 70s elsewhere and up to mid-80s inland east bay. at the game tonight of course it will be a little cool 7:15, first pitch at 62 at at&t park and dropping to 59 degrees. our temperatures are mild tonight, mid-50s to a few mid-60s where clouds and drizzle for the morning commute. the monsoon moisture will move in wednesday with the storms over the sierra will work their way into the north bay and headed to wednesday night it will quiet down and then on thursday, you can see another bulls eye developing over the north bay. that will be the better chance. as far as the temperatures you can see they are pretty homogenized through friday. by the time we get to saturday and sunday we will see warming but that will just get us into the mid-80s in most areas away from the coast where we will stay in the 60s. it will be an interesting week
