as first reported by our reporter the bureau of land management confirms they are investigating if the gun used to kill kate steinle belonged to one of their agents. sources say the semi automatic pistol was stolen in a car burglary in san francisco last month. the chronicle reports it was the agent's personal gun not the service weapon. on sunday, the suspect admitted during a jailhouse interview with abc7, that he shot 32-year-old kate steinle and pleaded not guilty yesterday. sanchez said he found the gun wrapped in a d shirt on pier 14 on wednesday and it fired accidentally. >> today is about kate the incredible family that has shown such extent in this incredibly difficult time and about bringing justice to the family. >> sanchez bail was set at $5 million and he is due in court july 27. day with abc7 for continuing coverage of the pier shooting on air and online with reporting

continuing now twitter@abc7newsbayarea. >> if vallejo police hope witnesses will come forward with information about a shooting that left a woman dead who is just riding in the car. janet o is at police headquarters with more the janet? >> kristen, vallejo police are still trying to fine the person responsible but no arrests have been made. the shooting took place yesterday around 3:30 in the afternoon, a couple were driving on broadway near louisiana street and they heard several shots fired. it wasn't until they drove ten blocks they realized one of them was shot. the female victim died at a hospital. vallejo times herald is reporting that the victim was shot multiple times. she is a 26-year-old from daly city. the male victim was treated and released for minor injuries. a few hours after the shooting sky 7 showed police surrounding a home on broadway and ohio. police served a warrant at the
