good evening, everyone. traffic on the bay bridge toll plaza backed up at this hour as you can see in some of the lanes it has been pretty bad all day. the doyle drive closure causing traffic headache tuesday for drivers in and out of san francisco. commuters of course have been warned to steer clear of the golden gate bridge corridor. caltrans has 79 hours to finish work on the approach. and live near presidio parkway in san francisco with a look at the progress. janice? >> reporter: after tonight one more full day of construction. crews say so far so good. it looks like they have paved most of the lanes. they're making good progress.

they say they're right on schedule to reopen doyle drive by early monday morning. >> construction on doyle drive is well under way. it is the second day it has been closed and crews are hard at work. pouring cement paving the roadways, and installing medians. the work is being done to create a safer wider connection known as presidio parkway. some are calling it an obstacle course to get to the golden gate bridge. >> gps couldn't figure what to do. there was no alternative route. we gave up. they decided to make the best of it. >> we can't be on it. at least we are taking pictures of it. >> at marina boulevard, drivers had to be directed to take alternate routes. at gary/19th drivers had to be directed by a traffic officer. >> taken a while. some places you get stuck. there is no way to get around traffic. >> we decided to conduct our own tests driving along the bridge

in the northbound lane from the presidio, a breeze. on the southbound. traffic was not as light. it took 35 minutes to the toll plaza, 50 to the presidio. not too far from the norm says this man from marin county. >> i'm not going to the city. that's plain and simple. it's ridiculous to try to fight the traffic. >> if you expect this to be the last of the construction think again. transportation officials say after monday, future work and lane closures are on the horizon. in san francisco abc 7 news. ferries between marin and san francisco are more crowded than normal because of the doyle drive closure. some from the north bay told us they decided to skip driving they didn't want to deal with the traffic jams. for some the first time taking a bet across the bay. they say it went be their last. >> we love the ferry. it was a great day.

>> search effort include about 50 volunteers with the contra costa sheriff's office. here is another look at her. you may hear a helicopter tonight. crews will use heat sensing equipment. >> two santa rosa junior college students accused of trying to shoot and kill a suspected prostitute were stopped by police and let go the night of the crime. the shooting was at a motel in roanoke park thursday morning. a walnut park officer, pulled over 22-year-old ronnie threadgill and his roommate koa sibley. moments after the shooting. the officer let them go to assist an officer 0 inon a call. surveillance shows threadgill near the crime scene and that led to arrest late friday. both men were training to try out for the college football team. the school's coach can't believe they're accused. >> i was shocked. and very sad. and very sad for the person who

was injured. >> threadgill charged with attempted homicide. sibley faces an accessory charge. the victim is in the hospital. she can't speak. a motive is not known. an 1 year8-year-old man, a suspected drunk driver crashed into a parked car. police believe the driver was speeding and didn't notice the car at eden shores boulevard before 3:00 a.m. the victim was the passenger in the car that was stopped. the driver escaped with minor injuries. officers arrested the dui suspect a few blocks from the scene. we'll head over to abc 7 news meteorologist, with a first check on the forecast. lisa? >> hey there katie. we had a beautiful day today. temperatures in the 80s. inland. plenty of sunshine. a little cooler. look at half moon bay 73. 73, oakland. looking at conditions right now on the cloudy side. in fact the cloud are keeping our numbers up into the 60s

this is the video shared on social media thousand of times overnight. the dedicated giants fan dives into san francisco bay to get a home run ball. abc 7 news reporter talked with that fan tonight and joins us now live at at & t park with the story. hi, sergio. >> hi, katie. i learned there is a science that goes into figuring out when the best time is to be outside at & t park for one of the high flying home run hits. and, yesterday turned out to be the perfect day for that one dedicated fan. because of the weather and because he was willing to jump. this is the hit. >> home run number seven. >> that one dedicated fan into the base of the ball. >> easy. that fan is sean todd.

59 half moon bay. 63, morgan hill. em emoryville. cool spot is napa at 61. 65 concord, livermore. 64 degrees. so the mild air due to the mid level clouds, the high cloud. and also those warmer than average ocean temperatures. so we are looking at mid 60s in the ocean. those buoys reporting records in some spots. and that translates into a milder onshore push. partly cloudy skies for tomorrow. bit more in the way of cloud cover. inching up just a little bit in the east bay. by wednesday see a return to the 90s. a system that brought us the rain thursday. here are the cloud moving over the bay. and they'll continue to push on through. call it partly sunny tomorrow. should be a nice afternoon. beyond that, things will continue to warm up. so, starting out tomorrow. notice throughout the morning hours we'll have the cloud. they will thin out a bit.

good evening. in tonight's headlines, there is one more full day of construction to go south of the golden gate bridge. the closure created traffic headaches into and out of san francisco. workers finishing new tunnels to make the parkway safer. work is on scheduled. road should reopen 5:00 a.m. monday. in walnut creek, looking for a missing woman. valentina matnushia, vanished yesterday afternoon. she only speaks russian and has medical issues. >> two santa rosa junior college students accused of trying to kill a suspected prostitute last thursday. charged with attempted homicide, police say this is him in surveillance photos. his roommates accused of driving the getaway car.

a beach in rhode island will reopen tomorrow. the force of the explosion was so great it sent a woman flying into the air. as mary bruce reports. officials don't believe there is any more public threat. officials in rhode island investigating what caused a terrifying explosion in the middle of a crowded beach. the blast appearing to come from underneath the sand. people were yelling and screaming. call 911. it was very chaotic. >> the force so strong it threw a woman on to a nearby rock wall. first responders rushing her to a low cull hospital. her condition tonight unknown.

cosmetic treatments in years is set to become availablen just a matter of weeks. but a bay area doctor is urging caution. abc 7 news anchor cheryl jennings has the detail. a former runner who is always stayed in shape. but at age 65 she is noticing the effect of gravitien hery enin her chin area. >> i want to change this. >> instead of surgery or lipo she turned to a technique about to hit cosmetic procedure centers around the country. at her clinic, the doctor is mixing a solution that she will inject underneath her chin. >> so the chemical breaks down of fat cells. once they're broken down they're removed by the body. >> she says doctors have used the acid off label to dissolve fat. earlier this year a drug manufacturer made headlines when it won fda approval for a

commercial version. and recently the manufacturer was bought for $2 billion. plans to market it worldwide. the doctor says the version will require treatments to reduce the fat in a double chin as seen in the before and after pictures. while it is considered safe, she says there are potential side effects. what was seen was damage to the nerve that runs here. >> she began training doctors in safe placement. and it is now expected to become widely available by the end of summer. as for brenda she is hoping the results from her off label treatments will help turn back the clock. just the lift every woman wants that. >> the doctor says off label
