ere celebrating a birthday. seven others were hurt. several people spoke out at the berkeley city council meeting in favor of tougher building regulations. the city council did decide to call for inspeses on balconies every three years. an attorney for the family of a victim was an advocate calling for change. >> there could be other buildings with the same design and the same issue out there and problem. why do i say that? because we know the same contractors have had similar issues with other buildings that were built at the same time in other locations. >> here is a look at balcony that fell last month. the city plans to hire certified professionals to do the inspections. the city has not said how much it will cost or how many ball cozy are considered "unsafe," in the city.

>> richmond police are investigating several shootings that left a man dead and four injured including a teen. it happened in an area known as the iron triangle a man was shot and kill at an apartment complex and a teen wounded. hours later three more were shot. investigators hope to talk to witnesses to determine if they are related. >> his say they are not apologizing to the victims in the kidnapping they called a "hoax." the 38-year-old mathew muller has been arrested. the f.b.i. took over and said the second man is behind the vallejo kidnapping of denise husband kins and a similar case in dublin. an f.b.i. affidavit revealed evidence including items seized from muller's storage unit in vallejo. janet o has more on what investigators found in the storage unit next half hour. >> the city of san jose and the police and fire unions have

until the end of the day to negotiate a deal on pension reform and avoid going to court. the two sides have been meeting privately to settle disputes over measure b. voter approved the measure in 2012 to force city workers to crib more to retirement. the two sides have not been able to agree on retirement benefits. >> later today, san jose's police department will show off the body cameras officers will wear in the feel. mayor liccardo wanted the entire police force to wear cameras next year and the department said it will improve accountability and protect officers who will test the cameras next monday. >> the family of a girl hit and killed by an uber driver in san francisco settled the lawsuit. the six-year-old died after being hit on new career's eve in 2013. her mother was injured. the family claims the driver was looking for customers on the uber app at the time of the

accident. terms of the settlement of not released. >> abc7 was in union square in san francisco as muni workers checked out a damaged car. a bicyclist ran into the car at powell and post at 6:00 p.m. and paramedics took injured bicyclist to the hospital. it took an hour to tow away the damned cable car. the accident came hours after union leaders called on muni and the police department to target people who drive unsafely along cable car routes. >> in southern california crews are battling a 20-acre brushfire sparked by a car crash leaving the none freeway and landing open mountain side at green river road and caught fire. flames spread quickly. crews are working to recollect a nearby community. >> nasa's horizon's team will release morphotos of the close help counter with pluto with a huge buzz among space buffs.
