>> reporter: neighbors here in modesto tell me the people who lived in that house right there were not always very approachable but a they were nonetheless shocked when police descended on the street last night. they're even more shocked to find out that one of the victims, the youngest one in there, was the child of the person of interest in this murder. we also learned a few other details about the four other victims found dead inside. according to her family dr. amanda crews a physician with the county health system its one of the victims. one of her former colleagues tells me at least two of the children also found inside were hers. police were called to this neighborhood yesterday just after 3:30 to perform a security check and that's when officers found the five bodies inside two women ask three children the youngest six moanings old the oldes six year old. police have not released many details on how they died isn't they wanted to track down a person of interest who fled to

san jose. we're trying to piece together exactly how martinez was connected to all five victim us. so far police have only released limited information. >> i don't know. i can't confirm if it's the mother. i know there's a past relationship but can't confirm her relationship to the child. report the modesto police posted on its facebook page that martinez is the fatherrer of the youngest victim. right now we still have not confirm the identity of the second woman found dead inside. i was just told by one of the neighbors here that she believed martinez did live in this home when the family moved here a couple of months ago but she did know if he was still living here. reporting live, abc7 news. >> police arrested the suspect in san jose after tracking him to the westfield oak ridge mall this morning. we have more from san jose.

>> reporter: neighbors are still trying to make sense of what happened in this modesto home. police say 30-year-old martin martinez killed family. the victims, two women and three girls, ages six months to six years old. >> just don't expect that in your neighborhood. you think it's safe, it's quiet, and then you see this. >> reporter: police say martinez previously had a relationship with one of the victims' was the biological father of one of the children. >> it's devastating to the families of the victims and to the neighbors here as well. >> reporter: new tonight family members have identified dr. amanda crews general practitioner as one of the victims. saturday afternoon police say they received a call asking them to check on the home. e. >> either a family member or somebody the resident knows called in, showed concern with the residents i. >> after martinez was identified as a person of interest modesto pd gave san jose pd a tip he

an expansion of california's medicaid program is growing three times fastest than state officials expected new hampshire numbers released show medical enrolled more than two million people under the optional expansion. it has increased costs to program from $19 billion five years ago to 115 billion now. federal funding covers most of that but costs are expected to keep going up. state officials say long-term bugging will help the state cover future costs. the idea of seeing nothing but electric powered big rigs through california may not be that far off. on friday governor brown signed an executive order calling for zero emission technology in freight industry. that means trucks and trains that do not put our any pollution. he has given state agencies one year to come up with a plan and wants to reach zero emissions by 2030. bay area police dogs are getting extra police san mateo police sent us this video of k-9

people can smell that something big is about to happen in berkeley. this plant named trudy his native to sumatra. it's not technically a flower but it produces the biggest bloom of any plant and like lie you'd likely smell her before you saw her.
