the gentleman and i came outside the 7-eleven and asked if i felt it and the gentleman came from the intersection also, and we figured out it was an earthquake. >> the graph shows it along the hayward fault from san pablo bay in the north of fremont to the south through hayward and oakland and berkeley. the last major earthquake to hit along the hayward fault line was in 1868 reports at the most destructive earthquakes in the state. this morning, the earthquake is causing some delays for commuters on bart. we will be at the fremont bart station with a report at the 4.0 earthquake was centered near fremont and felt across the bay from north of fairfield to santa cruz and 11 after shocks have been recorded

overnight. our reporter, amy hollyfield is on the scene in vallejo with more. with a look at the aftermath, crews are boarding up the weapons trying to clean up this area. no one is living here. this used to be a home but they cannot live here because of the fire damage. the due mechanic was fully involved when the fires arrived. the building behind it was starting to catch fire. it nuclear to minutes to get the fire out but the damage was done. ten people would live here at york and alameda had to fine another place to sleep. the calls came if at at but the red cross came to help the victims. anyone was hurt. now, firefighters will try and figure out how the fire started.

>> developing news from modesto, where details have been revealed of the man accused of killing five people. he was under investigation in the death of a two-year old boy. two vigils were held for the five victims. one was in front of the home of r amanda crews where the bows were found. the suspect in the degrees martin martinez is the primary suspect in the october death of two-year-old christopher riley the son of dr. crews and her ex-husband. two day's the killings, it was reveal he died of blunt force trauma but police do not think that led to what happened on saturday. >> no the police department did not drop the ball. it is a horrible damage difficult but there is no indication leading to the time that anything like this would occur. >> martinez is suspected of killing crews, her six-month-old daughter rachel and her daughter his beg, his mother and five-year-old niece. he is custody in santa clara county jail.

>> i am eric thomas. the big story is the earthquake at 4.30 magnitude. leyla gulen has traffic and mike has the weather. >> the weather is moving. live doppler hd shows pretty quiet but there could be drizzle near the coast. you can see the marine layer is back as we look at it from mount tamalpais camera it is 1,200' and as it induces the stronger sea breeze our temperatures will drop. we are in the 50s and 60s so hopefully you slept better and in the 50s and 60s by noon and 80s inland by 4:00, and we are back in the 60s and 70s by 7:00 and this is just the first day of cooling this is more coming up in the seven-day outlook. >> we will find out what is going on, on the roads. we have a brand new accident, a major slow down on the bay bridge. so folks, if you are headed out of the east bay be prepared at 18 minutes gets you between the east bay into san francisco and

duplex near york and alameda. it spread for another duplex next door. crews got the fire undercontrol in 20 minutes. there were no injuries reported. ten people have been dismissed. our reporter will have a report from the scene in our next half hour. >> in oakland there was a fire at an farm after 12:30. when crews arrived it was fully engulfed. the apartment is destroyed. there were no injuries reported. the other two farms were not damaged. the cause is now "under investigation." >> developing news police say the man suspected of taking five lives is facing murder in the death of a two-year old child. friends and family of the victims gathered in front of dr. amanda crews' home in modesto. hundreds gathered nor another remembrance with warm memories of the family physician and her

santa clara jail until being transferred to modesto for arraignment. >> a man would threat were the his roommates with a knave was shot by police officers and is in the hospital. this began at 7:00 p.m. last night. a woman called 9-1-1 saying she and another were in danger from a roommate with a knife. >> i saw the police car going fast. when it turned the corner i heard the three gunshots. >> the guy cape out of the house with knife and the cops told him to put it down and he planned on coming to the cops and they shot him. >> the man is related to one of the women. police have not said what happened leading to the shooting. >> oakland, investigators are trying to find out why a car slammed into a funeral him killing the driver. it happened at the funeral home on telegraph before 10:00 last night much the driver went on

>> towing companies in southern california are refunding fees they charged to drivers who abandoned cars during an out-of-control wildfire. open friday, dozens of drivers had to leave their cars as flames spread across i-15 east of los angeles. when the owners went did retrieve their cars they were slapped with towing fees some more than $1,000. that lit up social media. the companies have now decided their services on that day were "donated." >> the stretch i-10 where a bridge washed out could havelied re-opening in weeks. the bridge passed inspection in march. caltrain said that the flash flood came at such an angle it washed away the soil. usually the bridge carries 27,000 vehicles going between los angeles and phoenix. >> dump trump is the slowing sentiment over the presidential run. the des moines register an influential paper in iowa a key voting state said donald trump should bow out after several
