[ inaudible ] >> matt this is an active investigation and hayward police are here investigating a shooting that happened early this morning. you can see behind us that there are several police agencies out here assisting in the investigation. highway patrol, san leandro police and san jose police are called asking if hayward police need help. and also, alameda sheriff is out here and we are hearing reports of an officer that has been

shot. the officer appeared to have been taken away by ambulance. we do not know the hayward officer's condition at this time. we are told by neighbors this morning that they heard at least four shots fired and they were told to stay inside during the investigation. neighbors say they were pretty surprised because they say that this is normally a quiet area. for now the investigation continues and we are waiting for more information from hayward police, and the streets are blocked off. we are asked to stay behind the crime tape. we will have more information for you as soon as we get that information. >> thank you janet. >> new have morning, firefighters in slay highway went to work putting out this fire bunk at a big commercial willing. it break out on sacramento street near daniels avenue shortly after 3:30 this morning. no one was hurt. investigators say the same building previously caught fire. homeless people were staying

there. there is no word if it was the case this time. >> move day for antioch pre-school and the slow up at the end of the month. so far 300 kids have no place to go. amy hollyfield joins us in antioch with what is happening today. >> amy? >> yes, the moving trucks arrived today and they will show up this morning and start loading up. the kids club preschool is out of options so the school will be closing its doors. the school has not been able to fine another location so today is the end. the school is state funded so it provides free preschool for 300 students and the school district has leased space to the club school for 10 years. now they want the space back for special needs kids. though searched for other spaces but could not find anything affordable. parents are very upset and some say they will not be able to afford pre-school which can cost more than $700 a month. the school is out of options and so are some parents.

a neighbor in hayward said she heard screaming at 3:00 am and at least four shots fired. >> i was sound asleep and i thought i was dreaming and i woke up is seen the officers everywhere. kind of scary so close to home. >> show described the neighbor as being relatively quiet. she said she was shocked it see something like this right outside her front door. hair miss have yet to confirm if an officer has been shot and what the circumstances were that led up to the shooting. now, no word yet about the suspect or suspects in this case. obviously, a lot of work to be done out here and heavy police presence with a lot of local police stations out here assisting c.h.p. out here and san leandro police are out here and, also the alameda county sheriff office is out here helping hayward 3-d -- police

department during the investigation. we will continue to bring you updates on the developing news. thank you, janet. an investigation is underway into a propane tank leak in san leandro that started at 10:00 as the fuel company called crazy charlies near catalina street. firefighters were called to the scene to find and can't leak. roads were shut down as a precaution. there is no word on what caused the leak. >> from new jersey, a warehouse fire has been pushing for hours in north brunswick that broke out at 11:30 our time in a warehouse full of cars. the fire created a massive cloud of orange and black smoke that could be seen for miles. the local meteorologists could see it on their radar. the warehouse is used for vehicle storage. had have been evacuations and streets are closed off. so far no injuries have been reported. >> investigators in walnut creek will try to figure what prompted a suspected murder-suicide among two young people at the front

door of this walnut creek home early yesterday morning. police say 21-year-old scott bertics shot and killed the 19-year-old clare orton and turned the gun on himself. they were in a relationship. neighbors say they were both good kids. >> we saw her run through the neighborhood in her practices and just a wonderful family and a wonderful daughter. >> no parties. no fast driving. no nothing. just nice kids. >> the scott bertics family lives in lafayette and he was going to stanford. she was at san diego state university. there were no previous disturbances or restraining orders related to the pair. >> today, the map accused of killing kate steinle on pier 14 if san francisco is expected to be in court this morning. kate's dad of pleasanton testified in front the senate judiciary committee discussing his daughter's death and pushing for change to immigration policy. francisco sanchez, the alleged shooter, was convicted of seven physical anies and deported five
