to the shooting began at the long-term parking structure behind me. it to lated on to san bruno avenue, even on to the exit ramp to 101, where the suspect told police to shoot him during a confrontation. >> this victim was talking to police investigators about a scary encounter with a carjacking suspect. police say minutes earlier the suspect had crashed this white toyota on south airport boulevard. the car was stolen from the long-term parking garage. it belonged to a woman running the san francisco marathon. witnesses saw the dry leave the scene carrying a backpack. a police officer stopped the man. >> when the officer asked the suspect to place the backpack down, the suspect ran. >> reporter: he ran west on san bruno avenue and police say he attempted to carjack the car of a red honda. >> the driver is threatennenned. he can here the original suspect telling the driver to drive.

people on the driveway of a home on sunbeam circumstance. the gunman got away na light colored compact. a second person was driving. >> details on a pedestrian death on highway 101 in south san francisco. three vehicles hit the man who was on the freeway south of oyster point boulevard this morning. all three drivers are cooperating with investigators. northbound lanes were closed for nearly three hours. a crash involving a big rig and two cars in berkeley closed down part of eastbound interstate 80 at ashby avenue this morning the right lane of i-80 was closed for nearly seven hours. officers say the truck slammed head-on into the overcrossing. the driver is recovering in the hospital. engineers had to inspect the overpass to check for possible structural damage. let's look at the scene from the emmy -- emeryville camera.
