missing eight-year-old girl, and madison middleton or maddie was seen at 4:00 yesterday afternoon playing outside her mother's apartment complex on river street wearing a purple dress and a helmet riding a white scooter, she is 4' tall and weighs 48 pounds. if you have seen madison called 9-1-1. janet o is on the scene with a report at top of hour. >> an amber alert has not been issued. certain criteria must be met. the shield has to be 17 years old or younger law enforcement must confirm an abduction has taken place and the child must be at risk of serious injury or death. also, there needs to be sufficient description of the child or captor vehicle to issue an alert. authorities have not issued an amber alert. our coverage continues on twitter@abc7newsbayarea.

>> police received calls of shots fired last night near 50 redwood parkway and oakwood avenue and then a car that crashed into three parked vehicles in the same area. police found two people inside a badly damaged black vehicle and injured passenger was taken to the hospital. driver died at the scene. official say it is not clear if the driver was shot to death or died in the crash. >> drivers who use the car pool lane to shake a few minutes off the commute, federal highway officials say this is not helping enough. our reporter is along interstate 680 with more. amy? >> yes, the car pool lane in the bay area is just too slow. it is good news believe it or not, because the economy is doing so well. this is more traffic. that having whoing the lanes. according to a report traffic is supposed to go at least 45 miles per hour in the car pool lanes.

alta an hour northeast of sacramento. that fire started on saturday and it burped 1,500 acres and only 15 percent contained. 2,000 structures are threatened. four firefighters were burned fighting this fire and one was seriously funded. the other three were released from the hospital. there is no word on cause of the fire but investigators are looking for a white jeep wrangler leashing the area when the fire starts. >> a wildfire near lake bearing is -- lake berryessa 56 percent contained. all evacuations and road closures were lifted over the weekend and officials believe that a car accident spark the fire on when. >> lake county strong winds fueled a small fire that destroyed two houses and did minor dam to an apartment complex in clear lake. the ten acre fire started at 4:00 p.m. and firefighters took action to contain it. no one was injured.
