madison middleton was last seen righting her white scooter. she lives in the area. this something she normally does. they have been looking for her since yesterday at 6:00 p.m. in the evening when she first went missing. i will show you her picture, she is eight years old she is known as maddie at 4' tall 48 pounds. she has brown hair. blue eyes. last seen wearing a purple dress and black leggings. there have been a lot of we calls from people saying they may have seen her. so far though, no leads have turned up. police are out here as well as the sheriff and they have k-9 dogs who are specially trained to look for missing people. they are covering a four-mile radius from the art center all the way down to the beach. search and recuse volunteers are out here assisting. they are just walking on foot. they are driving, deferring

everything they can to try to locate this 8-year-old girl. again, a lot of calls are coming in from the community, a lost concerned people, obviously but, so far no leads have turned up yet and they will continue to actively search for her until they find her. reporting from santa cruz janet o for abc7 news. >> search-and-rescue crews from several counties are combing through el dorado national forest for a missing san francisco teacher. ed cavanaugh teaches downtown high school a continuation school in the city. he disappeared in wooded terrain near rock creek trail. cavanaugh was last seen july 17 while he partied with a friend while -- parted with a friend while riding the dirt b cavanaugh has diabetes and needs medication. >> major control on the wragg fire at lake barry. crews have held it to under 6,600 acres burned.

the fire broke out on wednesday in napa county. all road closures were lifted over the weekend. one home was damaged. >> a wildfire burning northeast of sacramento is threat being homes in novato burning 157 acres. it is now 15 percent contained with 2,000 structures are being threatened and people would live in the area are trying to stay positive. >> i am optimistic. these buildings were built in 1870 and that is 1856...there is a reason they still standing. >> four firefighters were burned fighting the fire, one seriously. no word yet on a cause but investigators are looking for a white jeep wrangler seen leaving the area the time the fire started. >> additional crews are fighting the willow fire near bass lake.

the 1,500 acre fire is burning in the sierra national forest threatening 450 structures. this fire is only 5 percent contained. camp grounds in the area are being evacuation writted. >> miss will take over the investigation of a carjacking suspect shot in the stomach by san francisco officers near sfo. authorities say the map crashed the stolen car near the airport yesterday morning and tried to carjack other drivers trying to get away. one officer ordered him to stop and was forced to shoot the man when he came at the officer. the man's name is not released. he is expected to survive. the incident happened in the jurisdiction of the san mateo police department. >> a man accused of shooting a woman in san francisco is in custody this morning. abc7 was at scene near 25th and connecticut yesterday and the officers happen cuffed the man to a fence after they say he tried to run away. the woman is expected to survive. police are still trying to figure out a motive. >> are car pool lanes in the bay area getting drivers where they

where search is under way right now if a missing 8-year-old girl and police have called in extra help from the sheriff and the state. john it o is at the command post janet? >> time is of the essence, right enjoy, officials are searching a four mile radius locking for eight-year-old madison middleton who was last seen lying her right scooter here at the tannery. look at her picture eight-year-old maddie is 48 pounds 4' tall, brown hair and blue eyes and last seen wearing a purple dress and black leggings. she also had a black helmet on when she was riding her white scooter. now, there are about 50 people with sheriff department and police and volunteer search-and-rescue volunteers searching for madison right now. they have been walking they have been driving they also have specially trained k-9 dogs
