to speed. >> thank you leyla. it is look 5:00. in san jose, police are investigating a fatal stabbing in east san jose. authorities were called to the area near interstate 680 and alum rock avenue after 2:00 for reports of a fight. the suspect took off before police got this. >> three law enforcement presentations and a funeral is held for sergeant scott lunger the 15 area veteran of the hayward police department shot and killed during a traffic stop. janet o is in hayward with how the community is remembering him and supporting his fellow officers. >> good morning, matt, many are remembering sergeant scott lunger especially here in this community that he served. he was pa will fromming the streets of hayward and considered a labor of love. at the chapel of chimes in hair many community members are expected to turnout and show their support as the procession begins in a few hours. family can friends and members

of the community showed up during the public viewing. right now there are officers from other police departments standing guard until sergeant scott lunger's casket leaves the chapel of the chimes in hayward making his way to oracle arena. the loss of sergeant scott lunger's life has touched so many include those who did not know him but want to thank him for his service by leaving cards and flowers outside the hayward police station where there is a growing tribute. >> feeling compassion community in mourning. really, loving feelings this man projected. good, good person. very humble. very sound values. someone you really need to be around. under the surface you do not know these people from day-to-day because they are not so visible.

this is abc7 news. union pacific crews are working do clear about 14 railroad cars that derailed south of sacramento. the derailed cars were part of a larger 75-car train carrying consumer goods including wine and slam pain. the officials say that no one was hurt. >> a report on safety and staffing procedures at a science camp reveals changes that have been made or could be made soon. this comes after an employee was arrested on charge of child molestation and child pornography and molesting a ten-year-old boy when he worked as a counselor at a camp operated by the county office of education. our media partner reports that if you safety measures and program protocols at the camp are being put into aknow. >> teachers in san francisco archdiocese are nearing an agreement on a new contract but the fight against morality clauses continues.

duty. amy hollyfield is at oracle arena where thousands are expected to attend. amy? >> question, the hayward police chief is hoping the oracle arena will be packed with people to support sergeant scott lunger. she said it mean is much to her department and to the sergeant scott lunger family if the public shows up with love and support. 48-year-old lunger is from the bay area and graduating from dublin high school in 1985 and worked for the hayward police department for 15 years. he is survived by his father, two brothers a sister and two daughters who are 21 and 19. his sister and his daughters plan to speak today. the public has been very supportive of the hayward police department since his death. people have been stopping by and leaving flowers and noted and creating a memorial. the chief said the support has been helpful. >> we are so blessed to have such a robust support group in our police organization with our allied agencies.
