twitter@abc7newsbayarea for the latest. >> down the road in mountain view traffic is at a practical standstill with lanes blocked on we through mountain view after motorcyclist died this morning in a crash with a big rig. matt keller is at the scene. matt? >> kristen, this is a terrible scene, the coroner arrived half an hour ago for the investigation. the c.h.p. has blocked off three lanes. you can see the cars emergencying interest one lane, the car pool lane and c.h.p. lined up the vehicles so commuters do is to see the body in the middle of the road happening at 9:00 a.m. c.h.p. said the motorcycle and a big rig came in contact with each other just before the exit in mountain view. the motorcycle was wiped out and the rider died at the citizen. >> it appears they pay have been splitting lanes. everything is...preliminary. we are looking for witnesses. hopefully we can get more

injuries much the driver of the car stopped and is cooperating with the investigation. >> happening now, governor brown is meeting with fire officials working the rocky fire saying something has to be done about the 23 fires burning across the state. >> the message is clear. the california is bumping. what the hell you gonna do about it? it is not just california but extreme weather evens through the country and the world. it is not a game of politics. it is a net to our well-being and way of life. at least come up with some response. >> the governor is with a team of first responders including cal fire and law enforcement officials. the rocky fire is 40 percent contained. crews have kept it from growing any bigger since yesterday and held it at under 70,000 acres scorched by flames near clear lake. 43 homes, 53 outbuildings destroyed by the rocky fire in northern california. in the past half hour, a school district announced they are delaying the start of the school year because of the fire.

the first day of school is now august 17. a lost residents are still evacuated. crews do not expect to have the fire contained until next thursday at the earliest. >> a community event inviting rohnert park neighbors to have coffee with a cop was canceled over threats of violence days after cell phone video surfaced show a rohnert park police officer drawing his gun on a man in his front yard during a heated exchange. the city manager said an investigation is underway to determine if protocols were followed. police say they got word some people were planning on extending this morning's event potentially putting citizens at risk so they canceled it to be safe. >> throughs people are gearing up for the giant music festival, outside lands in golden gate park but not everyone is happy about it. amy hollyfield joins us to explain. amy? >> this should not be too busy this weekend. had concert is sold out, a very popular event, some great agents

the thunderstorm threat. now, the thunderstorms themselves could create locally gusty winds when they develop. until then higher humidity and more clouds and thunderstorm are possible tonight and dry and cooler starting tomorrow afternoon. here is a look at mid-level and upper level moisture, it is not making it to the ground. the pump is primed by the low pressure to the west and because it is to the west the winds are coming from the southwest and heading to the upper part and elsewhere, they are light, less than ten miles per hour, but for sfo they are at 13 miles per hour. temperatures today will run in the 70s along the coast interest san francisco and upper 70s on mid-80s around the bay and the south bay and upper 80s in the north bay and low-to-mid 90s inland even with the cloud cover the muggy air mass is going to yield the temperatures. 7:00 at the cove and 69 and were directing to 65 by the time the game is over under clouds. temperatures tonight because of the cloud cover and humidity is milder than average, upper 50s to mid-60s. here is the setup, the area of
