really odd. >> seeking heat relief. a look how the bay area is happening another scorcher and when we'll get a break from record temperatures. hello, i'm katie marzullo. we begin with the excessive heat. we have live team coverage, beginning with meteorologist drew tuma. several cities sat record high temperatures. >> yesterday was hot, today even hotter. a lot of cities seeing record-breaking heat. high so far, san francisco, this is the city, hit 90. a new record. oakland, a record of 92. san jose, 97. 100 in fremont. santa rosa, livermore, 104 and

105 respectively. right now, current temperatures, dangerously hot inland, 103, san ramon, 105, antioch, 104, concord, even san francisco warm at 80. another warm and hazy day on the way for your monday. so a "spare the air" has been put into effect. poor air quality in the north bay, the inland east bay and so monday use public transportation, car pool or walk or bike to cut down on emissions. i am tracking a break from the heat wave. the bad news is issue annot tomorrow. the will detail the numbers in forecast. let's head live outside. this is our sutro tower camera and you can see the layer of smoke. through says the smoky air will

clear on tuesday. happening now. people seeking relief from this blast of heat. we were at the berkeley marina, where people flocked to the water, as you imagine. high temperatures there were the upper 80s. katie hit the beach to see how people are handling the summer sizzle. >> reporter: about anybody who is outside felt the record temps. there's a group of people loving the heat and those are farmers market vendors selling watermelon, it was an easy sell today, and we're hoping thousands of the people long here on ocean beach will perhaps invite us to a barbecue. >> hot dogs. >> it's really hot. >> shorts and sun dresses. in the city? >> we spend a lot of the summer in the fog, so this is welcome. >> reporter: the farmers market heat up early jerk came here to be coal but -- to be cold but eye knock. so i'm staying out of the sun.

homes were reduced to ash and cinder blocks inch california, firefighters are battling flames and heat exhaustion, ventura county crews had to call in outside help twice on saturday. >> our feeling right now among firefighters, we're going to get a break? >> yes, there is, doesn't look like we're going to get it. still hot and dry. the weather doesn't look to be improving anytime soon. we are stretched very thin here in the state. >> reporter: bad news since fire season doesn't typically start until the fall. it's two months early. abc news, ventura county, california. >> the chp is investigating the cause of a deadly motorhome fire in -- sonoma county. you can see debris from the motorhome scattered across the area. witness says the vehicle was engulfed in flames and then caught the hillside on fire. >> our fire units here responded and took care of that right away. witnesses report hearing someone

inside the vehicle. however they were unable to get to that individual. due to the flames. >> fire crews were able to knock down the flames quickly. the chp shut down both lanes until just after noon. antioch, car commit killed a woman who was walking on highway 4. it happened just after 1:00 this morning on the eastbound lanes. the driver stopped and is cooperate with police. unclear why the woman was on the highway. details in the massive water main break in vallejo. the city says water service was completely restored by 9:00 this morning. 30,000 homes either lost water or had low water pressure after a 20-inch water main broke saturday morning. officials say the water is safe to drink but may taste funny or look cloudy, residents are advised not to wash clothes in it until the cloudiness goes away. no word on what caused the pipe to rupture. >> a passenger plane is missing in indonesia. why the airline involved is banned from flying in several
