it is thursday, august 20. we are tracking the tesla fire. >> we are checking wind. so far, it has scorched 2,pawn acres sovereign the altamont pass, with wind in the forecast today could put a damper open containment efforts. amy hollyfield is at fair line in livermore. >> firefighters are getting a bit of a break right now. some are catching sleep. here is a look at what the fire is doing. we shot this video standing on tesla looking up at a hillside and you can see it is sprinkled with clusters of fire. it is in a windy canyon but the fire laid down. it is income compared to what firefighters were dealing with year. it was really raging. it started at 2:45 in the afternoon and by evening it burned 2,500 acres. it came close to several homes. most of those were saved.
