are flashing. be careful if you make your drive eastbound along i-80, but when we have companies and heavy traffic, and as we take you into san jose, looking sluggish as you pull away from 880 into cupertino, but, other than that, we are accident free in the south bay. >> thank you. more than a dozen people are without a home this morning after a fire at a san mateo apartment complex that broke out after 10:00 last night, firefighters had to call three alarms before getting it uncontrol. our reporter is at the scene in san mateo. >> look at the damage left behind by the fire. you can see just the frame of the apartment unit on the top floor is left. 14 residents were displaced by the fire. here is a picture that was tweeted last night by the police showing the flames residents had to escape. everyone got out okay. there were seven units in the

building that bumped and five of those were occupied. it started last night shortly after 9:00. at the apartments in san mateo. firefighters say they do not know cause. yet. >> right new we had our fire investigators on the scene to conduct the investigation. it is not complete but our crews found fire on the second floor in the attic area. >> did it look suspicious? >> fought at this time, no. >> there was a fire here in may at the same apartment complex. two people were treated for smoke inhalation and one reported losing her pet birds in the fire. everyone else was okay. it is too soot to put together why the two fires happened in three months and not ruling out it is a cruel coincidence. everyone involved last night is okay and a firefighter was seen for a strain he suffered but he for a strain he suffered but he was able to return to the fire

new cell phone video shows moments after an oakland police officer shot and killed a map accused of attaching her and seen moving his head and arms still alive after being shot. a bystander is heard calling for help. the officer shot the man when he hit her in the head repeatedly with a metal bike chain. the video is being reviewed as part of investigation. >> this killing spree with police must stop. >> small group of protesters mannered from where the shooting happened to city hall last night calling for a stop to what they say is excessive use of force. the officer involved shooting was the 6th for oakland miss this year and the 4th that be lab fatal. our reporter will have a full report coming up at 6:30.

of what happened. janet o is in the newsroom with more. >> oakland police say the officer would shot and killed a suspect was wearing a body camera. the video will be reviewed along with the cell phone video showing the chaos right after the shooting took place yesterday morning. the video shows the wounded man on the ground move his head and aways before he died at the sketch. police say the man initially attacked the officer multiple times with the metal bicycle chain and a bystander can be heard calling for help as the officer radios this for backup, for her gun on the suspect. some question if the shooting was necessary. >> kid is dying. help him. they could have tasered or placed him. i don't think what he was did was worth the life being take were. >> a metal chain someone at an individual is a weapon. no doubt. >> the protesters manned from

firefighters say there is something about a five that -- a fire that is odd. amy hollyfield explains. >> this is the second fire here at this apartment complex in the last three months. the residents say this is pretty upsetting. look at the damage left behind, just the frame remains of the upstairs apartment. some wonder if maybe electrical damage from the first fire could be to blame for starting this fire. they do not know. here is a picture from last night. it starts after 9:00. at the apartments in san mateo. there were seven units in the building that funded. five were occupied. two suffered extensive damage. 14 people were displaced in the fire. residents say the smoke was so thick a man said he saw it outside the window he could not believe it was happening. again. >> of the five units occupied two had extensive damage.
