sky 7hd. work is being done to fix the tower that collapsed and clogged up highway 101. the freeway is back open but ramps on to and off of broadway are still closed. cornell bernard starts team coverage live from burlingame. there's another close hour storm? >> reporter: pg&e just told us it will need to close all lanes of highway 101 tomorrow night from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on monday, to restraining reenergize power lines which were knock down in that construction didn't last night. this is what is left of the electrical tower which now sits smack in the middle of the broadway overpass. and you know, last night, left hundreds of motorists stranded. highway 101 was deserted saturday but detours around the closure were painful, lasting hours. she was late for a flight to india. >> we need to be there actually

15 minutes ago. kind of bad. >> reporter: peg'ing crews removed the crumbled piece of metal which used to be an electrical tower after construction equipment slammed into it on friday night. shannon was having dinner nearby when she heard the tower falling. >> almost signedded like either a bomb went off -- i at first thought a plane crashed. >> reporter: the impact dropped live electrical wires on 101. the freeway was quickly shut done but motorists were stranded for four hours. >> my car is okay. there are cars at the front that are straddling the lines and apparently there's a delivery truck that is kind of entwined in a power line. >> we were able to get everyone off the freeway safely, make the area safe, and able to remove the wires that were impacted. >> a new broadway 101 overcrossing was under construction. caltrans says ansah vater belonging to the japan foundation engineering company

caused the accident. >> that is under investigation. the excavator hit the tower, the rear end. >> reporter: we reached out to the engineering femur -- firm but have not received a response. >> here's a quick look at the traffic map. most of the red is now gone. that clogged stretch of road japanese an inconvenience to drivers but also to businesses in the area. sergio quintana is live from downtown burlingame with more. >> reporter: that construction project and downed power line is right down broadway, the entry port to this business district, and the shutdown to 101 and the onramp to this business district meant that it was a slow morning for a lot of local merchants. this afternoon u.s. 101 was re-opened in both directions 0 but for most of the day drivers

took surface streets to get around the shutdown, and that small local streets -- meant a lot of neighbors who would make it here for a breakfast or sweets at the local candy shop couldn't get there or decided against trying because of the traffic. so business was slower than expected on a sunny saturday morning. >> it is total, because after today, the 101 freeway is closed. usually on saturdays we're pretty busy, from the time that we open. usually we'll have people waiting at the door, and we didn't today. >> reporter: the broadway onramp on u.s. 101 here in burlingame remained closed as pg&e worked to come up with a temporary fix to their transmission line tower that collapsed last night. it was damaged bay massive excavating machine that's being used in a freeway and overpass construction project here, and while businesses say their morning was slow, u.s. 101 has

re-open this afternoon and a lot of the businesses did get a pretty good influx of customers when it re-opened. >> thank you. four people were injured in a late night freeway shootout in oakland. happened at 11:20 on 880 near fifth avenue. people inside two vehicles began shooting at each other. three people were hit with gunshots. a fourth injured by shatters glass. police are looking for the shooter. >> police arrest two northern california men for threatening another man with a gun. >> open the door. open the door. come out. >> police in sacramento say it's the first time they've seen social media users broadcasting what could have been a deadly encounter. the men claimed they were after a man who was with one of their girlfriends. the video goes on for an hour as viewers watched and like it with hearts and sent comments egging them on to asking them to prove
